Traverse City Trail Report – Blue Sky Snowmobile Rentals – 03/02

Good amount of snowfall the last couple days!

If, and only if the groomers go out we will be open for the weekend (Saturday and Sunday).

I will update this post once we are notified.

We have been in touch with the groomers and they are hoping to groom on Friday.

As of now the trails are snow covered but need a grooming to flatten everything out and cover up the washed out areas.

Please call if you wish to book 231-645-2628

A couple of photos from guided tours the last few days. 13 sleds on a guided tour with executives from Toyota to a couple of full loop tours with just 1 or 2 sleds. The trails are holding up pretty well as you can see. We are looking at a dismal forecast for later in the weekend. Forecast calls for warms temps with sun, which will not be good for the trails. The base is ok but won't take much of that warm weather to hurt it. We are hopeful the weatherman is wrong this time. It is Northern Michigan what they say today can change tomorrow. Let's keep are fingers crossed. If you do get out and ride, be safe, it is a bit icy in some spots as always and keep an eye out for other riders and the groomers! ... See MoreSee Less

The Boardman Valley trails are rideable, they are pretty rough and thin toward Fife Lake. Around Kalkaska there is a bit more snow and the trails are holding up pretty well. We had a bunch of renters out today that said they all had a great time but the trails were pretty rough in the higher traffic areas. The groomers were out prior to today and they did a nice job fixing the rutted areas from the idiots who decided to drive a truck on the trail again. We could obviously use more snow. I would rate them fair to good, depending on which part of the system you are riding. Be careful out there, there are some icy spots and icy corners. ... See MoreSee Less

I called the DNR about a truck driving on the trail in that same areas last year also. They should really put more effort into catching that fool.
