PARADISE AREA UPDATE via Paradise Area Night Riders www.paradiseareanightriders.org >> 03/26

3/26/25
30 degrees this morning under a bright blue sky. We did not get all the snow the weather guessers were calling for the last couple days. “They” were saying up to a foot….we got about an inch….LOL. The forecast looks like temps in the mid 30`s and a rain/snow mix for the next few days too. I`ve been gettin a lot of questions about the conditions and if we plan on gettin the groomers out. The trails are still decent and there is still a lot of snow in the woods so there is riding to be had. We do not have any plans on gettin the groomers out tho. With the temps and soft conditions predicted we will do more damage than good.

Here`s a final rundown on the trail conditions for this season….it officially ends this Monday……

Trail #8 south is still ridable but I`m sure water is starting to creep up, I haven`t heard any reports lately tho. The swamp south of town is closed of course and the ride from the river mouth to town is really rough.

I`ve had reports that the Falls trail #45 opened up. We will close the gates on that today.

Trails #452 and #453 are still decent and plenty ridable but are gettin just a touch choppy.

Trail #8 to Pine Stump is the same.

We`ve had a great season this year, just get out and enjoy the last weekend and take it easy and you`ll have a blast!!!!

Also, I`ve had reports on people trying to get out to their property in the woods by vehicle and gettin buried. Don`t try it yet folks, there`s still WAY too much snow in da woods!!! Its gonna be at least a couple weeks (maybe more) before you can make it by truck. Its a very expensive towing bill if you try it!!!!!
OK, we had a great season. God Bless and see ya`ll next December.

Peace out…….Groomer Chris

Michigan Snowmobile Trail Report

WEATHER UPDATE via Michigan Storm Chasers >> Okay, remember how we mentioned sneaky snow this weekend? Well, it started yesterday, and will continue today at times, but fill in greater as lake effect by Sunday.
Here on February 21st, 2026, most of the snow and freezing rain will continue across the western UP and northwestern LP. We will see a shift to more snow into central and southern Michigan by late this evening. Then on Sunday, snow should be on-and-off across the entire state, with an uptick in typical lake effect zones such as the spine of the western UP, and the entire Lake Michigan shoreline. Lake effect bands are very finicky, and are subject to microclimate wind shifts. It's very possible that a few locations in our 1-3" zone see 4-5" by the end of the day on Sunday. We will be monitoring radar for a dominant lake effect band that stretches across the peninsula. The increase of wind on Sunday morning may also reduce visibility on all roadways to under half a mile, so travel only as fast as conditions allow.
Bottom line, plan for some more of that "annoyance" snow. Not enough to be called a big storm, but enough to cover all side roads, and many of our main roads. Accumulation will be higher during the overnight hours when surface temperatures are NOT at or above 32Β°F for most of the state. This also means our chances at freezing drizzle are higher during the daylight hours. #miweather #keweenaw #westernup #marquette #munising #seney #newberry #soo #gaylord #cadillac #benzie #traversecity #petoskeyOkay, remember how we mentioned sneaky snow this weekend? We fully expect to see your emoji reactions to this snowfall still-to-fall through the morning commute on Monday. Are you ready for winter to be over, or do you need this snow like there's no tomorrow?
