SAULT STE. MARIE AREA UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association >> 3/29/25 Holy cow! I am blown away by how good the city trails are! They haven’t been groomed in 2 weeks and you’d never know it! The little streams near Kewadin Casino are flowing again but our snow bridges are holding! Good morning! Well, we for sure got some freezing rain and ice, but the snow won over last night. It’s heavy wet stuff, maybe 2”, but covered up the ice that we got at least!

The decision has been made to bring the Pisten Bully back to the Soo for the season. If we get the ice that is predicted, downed trees will make it impossible to get it back here. While we still have hope that it will be more snow than ice, we have to be smart about our decisions and our equipment. The good news is, the trails in the Brimley, Raco, Bay Mills, and to the Soo are flat as can be. Thank you Turbo, Diane, and all volunteers! We’ll keep updating throughout the storm.
