STRAITS AREA UPDATE via Straits Area Snowmobile Club >> 03/25 Somebody has to be first! We are grooming tonight. Conditions can change fast with spring conditions but there is a lot of areas that are excellent and hoping to hold through the weekend. The first 4 miles coming out of St ignace is rough with trees down and truck ruts. From there north is ok. Cut river area is thin the last couple miles. Lake effect snow showers are expected in the northwest wind snowbelts, especially over the eastern U.P. where 1 to 3 inches of snowfall is expected. Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
