STRAITS AREA UPDATE via Straits Area Snowmobile Club >> 03/20 Thursday March 20th From St ignace to north of Moran we received 8-10 inches of snow last night. The storm seemed to hit our area the hardest with wind damage as well. There is wet spots under the snow and a lot of downed trees. It will take us a few days to get the trees cleaned up. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the low 40s and then cool off for the weekend with more snow Sunday night. Groomers are parked for now. If Sunday storm pans out we will run one more time and be sure to report. There has been a few sleds out today. Trout lake did not get as much snow but there was more old snow underneath so there is areas in the woods that you could ride. It’s just getting to them that’s tough. The first round of a potentially active week of winter weather is set to impact the UP tonight through Wednesday. Widespread snowfall develops develops tonight, lasting through Wednesday with trailing lake effect snow into the afternoon. The greatest snowfall accumulations are expected across the northern central, mainly the high terrain of Marquette County.
