Munising Area Trail Report – 12/10

Alger County SORVA

We did some base building and trail freeze-in work today. That work will continue all week. Unfortunately the ground is still not frozen. We are hoping to get much more snow to work with on all the trail prep work. Stay tuned!

Sault Ste. Marie Trail Report – 12/09

Ran groomer on trail #8 today from Soo to Brimley to Raco and to our turn around point half way to Paradise. Good amount of snow all the way, couple wet spots and a lot of packing done. Cold temps called for the next two weeks so it will get things frozen up. Snow is called for each day for he next few days. Less snow to the south and gates still closed.

If you are thinking about taking your sled for a ride due to all the snow early, remember early season riding applies. There are rocks, stumps, dirt moguls, and water holes not yet covered by a bunch of snow. There is no base for your ski carbides to grab and power thru a corner. Plus the wet and warm fall has many water holes unfrozen. So ride aware and don’t wreck your season the first time out.

Well said. Our excitement over the snow should not overshadow our common sense.
