Gogebic Range Trail Authority – Snowmobile & ORV Club Trail Report
Groomers were out last night reporting excellent conditions along trail 2 Ironwood to Marenisco and lake Gogebic. Bessemer to Wakefield is icy, but thanks to the new reroute riders won’t see much of an issue. We need some snow in there, which looks to come later this week/today. All in all we survived the warm-up VERY well and riders should have excellent riding this week and weekend, minus some short sections around towns.

Gogebic Area Groomers Report 2/26/2020

• Trail Condition: Good
• Last Groomed: February 18th, 2020
• Base Snowfall: 36+”

Groomer Report
Feb 24, 2020
While the warm-up this weekend was not what was ordered – it was nice to see the sunshine – but now – it can go away 😊Groomers have been doing a great job all season at keeping our trails and the Lake Gogebic Area trails held up amazingly well throughout the weekend. Our temps drops into single digits mid—week with snow in the forecast. Groomers have and will continue to be out nightly. We still have tons of snow and more than a 3’ base. This was a bump and we rode it out well. Enjoy a great week of riding in the Lake Gogebic Area where “you are a stranger only once”!
• Trail # 1N: from Bergland to White Pine is being groomed nightly and reported to be in good condition.
• Trail # 1 South: Towards Marenisco from Trail # 8 (Ethelwood Grade) is being groomed nightly and is reported to be in good condition.
• Trail # 1 south from Marenisco to Wisconsin Border is being groomed daily and it is reported to be in good condition.
• Trail # 8 East from Bergland to Ewen is being groomed daily and it is reported in good condition.
• Trail # 8W: from Bergland to Wakefield. is being groomed nightly and it is reported to be in good condition.
• Trail 102 from Bergland to Trail #11 is being groomed nightly and it is reported to be in good condition.
• Trail # 13 North from Bergland to 101 is being groomed nightly and it is being reported to be in good condition.
• Trail 13 South is open, being groomed nightly and reported to be in good to excellent condition.
• Trail #13 South from 100 to Trail # 2 is reported to be groomed daily and is in good to excellent condition.
• Trail # 100 South end of Lake Gogebic is reported be groomed daily and is in good to excellent condition.
Please stay on the trails, respect private property, do not drink and drive, and above all else, drive safely.

U.P. Thunder Riders Trail Report 2/26/2020

Groomer Report
Groomers are running nightly, trails are in good to very good shape. The warm-up we had didn’t have much impact on the trails, but some road areas are now thin and icy.
Trail #3 from the Wisconsin border to Watersmeet good, Watersmeet to Paulding good.
Trail #2 east of Watersmeet to Trail #107, good but lots of traffic hard to hold the groom
Trail #13 south to Cisco Chain, good

Shout out to Krist Oil in Bessemer, MI for helping us keep sledders cool and off pavement. As this picture shows, Bessemer is committed to making your ride the best possible. There is another street section they allow us to keep snow covered for riders and to protect the road surface. This is NOT done for you to ride fast, this is to help keep your skegs from disappearing this time of the year. As President for the last four years, this is by far the least amount of concrete riders have had to deal with. Kudos to DSM Dave Stark and plow man Bob for making a positive impact on rider's experience! C&M Oil just east of them also is helping us keep gravel and concrete covered as you get through town. Dreamwork is teamwork! #SnowmobileBessemer ... See MoreSee Less

Finally! Nice to see them finally playing ball. Hopefully this becomes a season long thing next year

We want to spend our money in your town. Thanks for thinking of us.

Kudos! Kwik Trip here has 2 stations on the trail in town and refuses to even leave a spot to park. Let alone the fact they will only carry Castrol 2 stroke oil... I hate Kwik Trip lol

Nice.....noticed that when I stopped to and from 160. Now if they would only fix the leaky hose on that closest pump🤨

I wish more gas stations would do this!

Havent beenbthere in years, but that's awesome deal there!!

Thank you for all your hard work.

That’s awesome!

Thank you!

Thank you

Groomers were out over night working hard! Club President Steve spent 7 hours grooming between Highway 2 and Sunday Lake in Wakefield. Much snow was spread around and corners flattened. Mike S of U.P. Engraving, LLC groomed 11S. No sleds were seen during the runs. Trails are in VERY GOOD condition with a short 2 mile section near Wakefield as "Fair" due to snirty snow. Even if we get no new snow before the weekend trails will still be in great shape! We continue to work on road routes grooming banks down to keep sleds off (and from damaging) pavement. ... Friend of mine was up there last weekend and said the trails are snirt and extremely icy and won’t go again unless they get more snow

Better run scratchers...that stuff is gonna freeze rock hard. Hope for some fresh snow.

Rode them yesterday, yes flat, but can’t cool sleds very well in thier current condition. Need fresh

Let’s hope this pans out !!

yup...looks like some fresh snow is needed........a little bit of "snirt" :'(

Little track clip polish in that there snow.

Ron Davis, conditions not looking to good UP there either.

snirt is showing early!

Little snirt never hurt anybody 😁

These pictures show more brown than white, but they are flat. LOL

Wouldn’t ride on that yuck

Look great

See you tomorrow

Ron Abernathy

Kinda sad

Pretty dirty!

Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 02/26

Not a new flake of snow in sight……I don’t like the sounds of things to come either. I did end up seeing two sleds in Frederic yesterday but that was it. Nothing today so far. Still hard and icy and we need new snow on top to do any kind of riding. Been getting alot of calls about riders wanting to try it but I tell them no. Had a group of four Ohio guys in yesterday that were leary about trying it but they did end up buying trail permits as they were going to try for something as they came all this way. So for entertainment now I would urge you to go to http://www.darksideadventures.com

and read the Frostbytes blog, Rod does an incredible job of posting pictures and telling of their adventure. The snow is just unbelieveable in his pictures. The pictures I am posting today cover 23 years of Sledheads signs that I have had up on the trail across the street from here. The sign had fallen down so I put up a new one yesterday…..Thanks for checking in and THINK SNOW!!!!! Pete
