WEATHER UPDATE via TV6 & FOX UP - WINTER STORM CHANGES: The track of the storm system has shift farther south. This changes the areas of highest impacts and snow amounts. We're starting off the day with snow/sleet across the eastern half of the U.P. Wind gusts will still be at times strong around 40 mph. This will still cause limited visibility near Lake Superior and some power outages. Snow accumulations will be lower with up to around 6.0" in the eastern counties. For the latest alerts click below.

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan - Tonight's weather will be benign, with mostly clear skies and low temperatures in the single digits across the Upper Peninsula.
Attention turns to a messy winter storm starting Tuesday night. As the initial warm front approaches, the expected progression of precipitation will be starting as sleet and freezing rain. Throughout Wednesday, freezing rain will turn into rain, but the precipitation is expected to change rapidly Wednesday night from rain to sleet to snow. This is a complex system and minor changes in temperatures and the timing of its arrival will have impacts on what type of precipitation falls, so continue to monitor the forecast for such changes. Regardless of the details, some power outages are possible especially in areas of freezing rain and wind, and travel could be hazardous in many areas.... #MIWeather #keweenaw #westernup #marquette #munising #Seney #newberry #Soo #straitsarea ... WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan - Scattered lake effect snow showers will linger over the eastern counties this morning, tapering off by this afternoon. Conditions have improved along M-28, but continue to use caution. Blowing snow could still reduce visibilities this morning. Temperatures today will top off in the low to upper 20s with some 30s to the south as sunshine prevails this afternoon.
