HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club >> 01/10
We had two groomers head out around 1am when them temps finally got cold enough, they were able to groom the grade (trail 7) from Pellston to Mackinaw, and the west side of our trail system except for the cross village loop.
There are a lot of water holes on the trails due to the rain and warm temps earlier this week but overall the trails held up nicely, the grade in front of the Pellston airport is down to gravel but there’s plenty of snow along the side of the trail in that area.
We have one groomer heading out tonight to do the east side of our trail system, still waiting to hear if we have a second to run the grade.

We hit record breaking temperatures this morning with 49 degrees in Pellston. It’s still too warm for grooming but the temps are heading in the right direction. We have an operator heading out around 2am to hit as many trails as he can, and then groomers lined up on the grade & east side of the trail system for tomorrow night.
Trail 7 (railroad grade) is opened back up for the weekend! They will be closing it again on Monday for a short period but after that they will be done.
We do have snow on the way tomorrow & Sunday. Let’s hope we can recoup what we lost.

WEATHER UPDATE via Michigan Storm Chasers >> We know you'll pass by this post for snowfall today, but here on February 12th, 2026, it's quite a reflective moment to see just how far we have come this winter. Just a couple weeks ago it was lake effect snow every single day. Today, a light band of 1-3" near Munising is all we will need to write home about. We even tossed in some humor for those not in a designated snowfall zone. A couple slick spots will pop up along M-28 near Munising, and perhaps around Petoskey if a longer lake effect band happens to form, but this is more unlikely than likely.

Josh groomed 76 to 765 then to trail 7 the railroad grade. From there he went to Weber Lake on 765 and 76. Then groomed 76 back to Chandler Hill Road. #petoskey #snowphotos

Overall the trails are in good shape but we really need some fresh snow. Warmer temperatures are on the way for this weekend which will really take a toll on the conditions & the ability to groom.
