NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via TASA Tahquamenon Area Snowmobile Association >> 02/08
Second stop sign, had to stop back at the shop and tinker the drag lights, and controls to work, so milage won’t be correct.
WOW last time I’ve seen jumps this large was large was on the X Games from Colorado a week or so back!!
Was pondering how many sleds it takes to destroy this trail like this basically in a day… how many may have cut through for the race, how many beds are filled in Newberry, Lots of time to ponder such things out here.
We need a counter devise of some sort for weekends anyway… if you see a black tube stretched across the trail one of these day soon, think nothing of it 😉
Lots if work ahead, I’ll keep you posted.
No pics yet, that IS THE second Stop sighn! 🤣
8AM On the Money!
Just turning south at the Pine Stump intersection, did you see that moon last night!”🌗
If you rode 9 yesterday you know it needed help desperately, corners North of Windy Corners were pretty out of control, spent ALOT of time on almost all the problem child’s 😉
Back to Lots of room when I make this final lap.
Must’ve been very busy yesterday, Windy Corners has been worse, just looked like heavy through traffic.
Gettin her back to where we want it.
I’ll check back after while.

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Strong winds develop near Lake Superior this morning, resulting in blowing snow and reduced visibility in the western, north-central, and eastern UP. In addition, slick roadways are possible in the wake of a round of patchy freezing drizzle this past night. This may lead to hazardous travel for the morning commute. While snow tapers off in the west and north-central by the afternoon, impacts continue in the east as lake effect persists the rest of today into tonight. #miweather #keweenaw#westernup#marquette#munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsareaStrong winds develop near Lake Superior this morning, resulting in blowing snow and reduced visibility in the western, north-central, and eastern UP. NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via TASA Tahquamenon Area Snowmobile Association >> Left Newberry at 6PM, headed north on trail 9, 5.1 miles of nothing but ugly so far, out in front anyway. Behind me, not so bad 😉 7:47 10.6 miles to the second stop sign today, a little slippage going on. Dozen pretty hard, may leave a tad of a mess edges of some corners, heads up just so you know, I'll use it on the way back. Mostly getting outta my way tonight, mostly, Major pain to stop when you're digging this hard.😐 Anyway, miles and miles to go, keep you posted. Thank You Chad Schubach for getting tracks adjusted up taunt, no way we could have fixed this trail tonight had we not. 😊 8:40 So I gotta tell ya, pulled out onto 498 (I75) toward Windy Corners, see some lights not moving Waaaay up there, get to the intersection, stop, ask them if the need me to find them something to do? He said, "No, he just saw we were coming and he wanted to wait, because he didn't want to piss us off", then hands me Gas Money!😁 I love this man, 🥰 thats all. 9:40, In and outta Windy Corners, pretty beat up, we left it pretty nice. At the Go to Pine Stump corner, no man's land signal wise for a bit, see what I can do once I get there. In case you wondered what Pine Stump looks like at 3:09 AM on a Friday. Turned around at Holland Lake 4AM Whoever comes up from Holland Lake has come and gone as well as Seney, 407 leg and loop are just incredible, so much snow to work with now.❄️❄️ Headin south, keep you posted. #newberry #snowphotos...
