Paradise Area Trail Report – 01/11

January 11, 2018

35 degrees this morning and cloudy with a little drizzle in the air. Never got below freezing last night either. Thats the kind of weather that hurts!! The weather guessers are saying close to 40 again today but by this evening its gonna drop to single digits. Gonna be a crazy day temp wise!! As far as the trails go, here`s what went on yesterday….

The only one that ran was Groomer Don. He hit the Point Trails one more time and called them excellent. Nobody else went out and we are gonna keep the machines parked for today. With these warm temps we`d be doing more harm than good. The trails are flat so when the temps drop they will be good to go for the weekend…..except for our infamous swamp.

I do have some good news…..if you can believe the weather guessers. This cold front coming down for this evening is gonna hang around for awhile. Its supposed to kick up a bunch of lake effect. Lets hope they are right!!!!!

All I got fer today. LET ER SNOW!!!!!!

Groomer Chris

We will be there at the end of September if needed and in October to get the trail markers up.

Hey folks....time for a grand update on whats been going on this summer at the Night Riders.
First lets start with da barn. We finished up the tin on the ceiling yesterday. The next step is framing the bathroom and mechanical room and gettin electric run. Then we have about 30 yds. of concrete to pour for the approaches and fuel shed.
Now on to the great news....we ARE getting ONE new machine this year. We`ll have the new one from last year and a new one this year and the Trooper. Now, the Trooper is the one that broke in two last year, remember, so we are turning that one in and getting it fully refurburshed. We wanted to trade this one in too but that can`t happen. We are getting rid of the old one that was broke down most of last season so this is good!
Soooo.....with the new machines and new barn, we`ll be in much better shape than last season....all we need now is a good old fashion winter.....BRING IT ON!!!!!!! I can`t wait!!! Groomer Chris

Thanks for da update Chris. You guys are set up for a great year. I was impressed with what you pulled off last year given all the issues you faced. Keep up the great work.

Appreciate all the hard work you guys do. Thanks from Ohio.

We appreciate all your efforts

It was great to see some of you at the burger n brat booth at the blueberry festival, thanks for all you do to make your trails fun for us to enjoy. I wish I could have stuck around to help on the new barn but this dog gone work thing keeps getting in the way.

All of your hard work doesn't go unappreciated, our group from PA loves the Paradise area.

The new barn looks awesome. I appreciate the work you guys/ladies put into the trails. The brat at the Festival was great.

Canโ€™t wait!

Where is the barn located?

Does anybody have some time to come UP and help us? The next step is putting up the tin on the ceiling. These sheets are 26 feet long by 39 inches wide....not very heavy but very awkward and have to hang 15 foot high on the ceiling. I`m thinking around the weekend of August 24th. Should just take a day and a half or so....depending on how it goes. Just need around 4 people. Pretty sad we can`t get much local help, even from the other groomer operators.....everybody says they are too busy.....YEA....me too!! Free camping at the barn with electric hook up but no water or sewer. You can message me on this page or e-mail me at home at saunders@jamadots.com. Thanks Groomer Chris ... See MoreSee Less

While I`m at it, I do want to give a HUGE shout out to the group of guys who came UP to help put up the OSB on the ceiling. It was tough, heavy work!!!! They are....James Schettek, Jon Todd, Phil & Scott Schaffer, Rod Kindel and Jeff Bosley. THANK YOU....THANK YOU...THANK YOU!!!! Groomer Chris

I will be at our place next week(Tuesday- Saturday the 18th). My son and a couple friends are heading up today. If you need a hand this week, I know a few young men I could ask. If not we will be back over Labor Day weekend if you need any help then. We donโ€™t even own a sled yet, but willing to help! Donโ€™t get much service in the woods, but will check when in town, or wave us down on Farm truck rd. Thank you for all you do!

Be up that why in a couple of weeks ,will check in see we can lend a hand .

Shared on our fb page for the Mio trails group!!

Yah that a boy ! Rip on your groomer drivers ! We donโ€™t sleep all winter and bust ass all summer to catch up to do it all over again. Those guys gotta love you ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

I know you want to finish things as soon as possible, but down here under the bridge we are busy until mid October. Typical lower Michigan tourism business. After that I can help and would love to come spend a few days in paradise as we are there snowmobiling all winter. If you can plan something early November I can help and can probably bring a few folks with me. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
