HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club >> 12/30
Mother Nature made a fierce return! Across our area we got dumped on by freezing rain, followed by a rough 8-14” of snow and 40mph wind gusts for almost 24 hours.
We have reports of several trees down on our trail system and some major drifts. We have all three groomers going out tonight to get things cleaned up. Riding today is not advised unless you bring a chainsaw and take your time going over hills and around corners.
There is more snow on its way today & tomorrow! We will have another update for you once the groomers report back.

WEATHER UPDATE via Michigan Storm Chasers >> We know you'll pass by this post for snowfall today, but here on February 12th, 2026, it's quite a reflective moment to see just how far we have come this winter. Just a couple weeks ago it was lake effect snow every single day. Today, a light band of 1-3" near Munising is all we will need to write home about. We even tossed in some humor for those not in a designated snowfall zone. A couple slick spots will pop up along M-28 near Munising, and perhaps around Petoskey if a longer lake effect band happens to form, but this is more unlikely than likely.

Josh groomed 76 to 765 then to trail 7 the railroad grade. From there he went to Weber Lake on 765 and 76. Then groomed 76 back to Chandler Hill Road. #petoskey #snowphotos

Overall the trails are in good shape but we really need some fresh snow. Warmer temperatures are on the way for this weekend which will really take a toll on the conditions & the ability to groom.
