NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via TASA Tahquamenon Area Snowmobile Association >> 01/22
So nobody forecasts or speaks about the 2″ of snow dust we automatically get here every night, and then most nights it snows some with that and I shovel 6″ daily to get out!
I’m heading out again on Tral 9 still leaving Newberry, very pleased with the amount of new snow I have to work with!
And seems like most read our informational post a couple days back 😉

Good Afternoon from a snowy Windy Corners! It has been snowing lightly for the majority of the day!
TASA Tahquamenon Area Snowmobile Association is out grooming and just came down trail 498 at 5:00 pm (January 22, 2025)
It’s a great evening to stop out for a visit! Both WOLF INN Grill & Spirits and North Store Follow Me Outfitters are open and ready to see you!

TROUT LAKE AREA UPDATE via The Rail House-Trout Lake MI >> Attempt #2... we made the entire loop around the lake. Use caution as there is a downed tree on the backside of the lake. We did not have a chainsaw and were unable to move it on our own. Visibility is better and there are a lot of sleds out. The snow is DEEP. If I had to guess I would say we got 20"+ of snow. Be safe. Be prepared and do not ride alone.
Buckhorn, Trout Lake is open and so is the gas station

TROUT LAKE - EASTERN U.P. UPDATE via The Rail House-Trout Lake MI >> Welp... we had to give it a shot but only made it a few miles before we turned around and headed back in. The wind makes it hard to tell exactly how much snow we have gotten in the last 24hrs but its pretty significant. Roads are NOT passable. Please don't try to go out until the county trucks are able to do a pass or 2. Yep brutal out. Rode 115 miles today in Newberry-Seney area. Good fun. Wife did too!

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> 6:14 AM EST Radar Update
Widespread snow is beginning to taper off from west to east. Very heavy snow will continue across the central and east into the afternoon. Widespread wind gusts 35-45 mph are common this morning, with gusts 50-60 mph closer to Lake Superior contributing to near zero visibilities, and blowing and drifting snow.
In Marquette and Alger counties, M-28 between US-41 and M-94 is closed. Unless absolutely necessary, travel is strongly discouraged this morning. Stay safe! #miweather #munising #newberry
