NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via TASA Tahquamenon Area Snowmobile Association >> 01/22 So nobody forecasts or speaks about the 2″ of snow dust we automatically get here every night, and then most nights it snows some with that and I shovel 6″ daily to get out! I’m heading out again on Tral 9 still leaving Newberry, very pleased with the amount of new snow I have to work with! Uncertainty still remains where this snowband will park, however, heavy snowfall rates will likely create difficult travel along US-41 from Delta to Marquette/Alger counties. Tonight, widespread snow transitions to lake effect snow for the north wind snowbelts. Accumulations remain consistent to this mornings forecast with 3-6β for most of the area and localized 7β+ possible where heaviest snow falls this evening and tonight. Around 4 inches of snow last night. I see the groomers all made it out. I would guess the trails should freeze up flat now.
I would imagine it will be lower traffic during the week. It would be a pretty good week to ride if you can sneak away! #newberry #snowphotos
