HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club – 03/01
Unfortunately we didn’t get anywhere near the amount of snow they were predicting, we got about 2 1/2” of snow in Harbor Springs followed by rain. There still plenty of snow to ride into Alanson, Pellston & Larks Lake, getting to Carp Lake / Mackinaw is going to be the hardest.
The weather isn’t looking great going forward so get out there while you still can. The trails are rock solid & icy so be careful! Spring like conditions!
With all of that being said at this point we are done grooming until/if we get more snow. With the icy conditions and the curvy hilly trail system we have it’s nearly impossible for our tractors to make it up some of the hills.

Just a couple weeks ago it was lake effect snow every single day. Today, a light band of 1-3" near Munising is all we will need to write home about. We even tossed in some humor for those not in a designated snowfall zone. A couple slick spots will pop up along M-28 near Munising, and perhaps around Petoskey if a longer lake effect band happens to form, but this is more unlikely than likely.

Josh groomed 76 to 765 then to trail 7 the railroad grade. From there he went to Weber Lake on 765 and 76. Then groomed 76 back to Chandler Hill Road. #petoskey #snowphotos

Overall the trails are in good shape but we really need some fresh snow. Warmer temperatures are on the way for this weekend which will really take a toll on the conditions & the ability to groom.
