MUNISING AREA UPDATE via Alger County SORVA​ – 3/20

TRAIL REPORT – Friday, 03/20/2020
WINTER STORM AND STILL GROOMING!
Overall trail conditions are good to very good with an average of 4 inches of fresh snow that fell after a heavy rain yesterday. We still have a very good base overall with great late season riding conditions. Near the towns we have thin snow/bare roads and dirty/icy snow on trails running along the roadways though the Wetmore Spur along M-28 is very good. Trail 419 between Munising and Wetmore is un-groomable and thin with icy corners and hill tops. Check Fuel and Food stops before heading out. Enjoy the Trails and Ride Safe! Yesterday was one more ride for myself and Ohio Brian. We headed out from Sledheads and had a great 20 plus mile ride around Frederic on the two tracks, still a foot of snow in some spots. My turbo 660 had a major break in the suspension as soon as we left so I ended up on one of my z 440s. I hit it right on the head when the other day I said I should pull the suspension out. Pics below are from yesterday. There is light snow on my truck this morning and its now 11:30, from reports I see in the u.p. grand marais is still reporting good riding. It will be interesting to see how many really go up. Its now about noon, and just back up from my basement and the newest headache is no heat…….need to get that going again and have called the fixit department. Guess thats it for today.
