WATERSMEET – WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via U.P. Thunder Riders Snowmobile Club >> 01/28
Groomer Update from after the weekend. Groomers Dave and Brian shared these pictures. 3 pictures of orange groomer are from trail 3 and trail 2 east by trail 107 on Sunday 1/26. The other 2 are trail 3 west out towards the PI trail on Monday 1/27. Same report as before. Some parts of the trail system are good and some not so good.

WATERSMEET - WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via U.P. Thunder Riders Snowmobile Club >> UPDATED 12/30/25- Groomers were finally able to get out today and groom our entire system and clear all big obstacles that were on or blocking the trails. Both groomers were out 9 to 10 hours to get through everything but still expect some mirror wackers as it will take a while to get all them. We got anywhere from probably 12 to 20 inches of snow so it is going to take a few days before the trails are really going to set up. We will be on a more consistent grooming schedule moving forward as long as weather cooperates and groomer drivers are available. Big thanks to some of the snowmobilers that stopped and help us clear some of the big trees and if you see something on the trails please try to pick it up to help our drivers out. LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via AJ's Lodge and Oven >> Received an update from a rider who did the loop: 8E–13N–101–12W–1N–102. With the exception of 8 out-of-town trails, conditions are reported to be fantastic.”
And just in time—I watched our groomer coming down the AJ’s access trail.

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> A clipper low will bring widespread light snow to the U.P today with generally less than an inch of snowfall. The exception will be in the northwest wind snowbelts where up to 4” of dry fluffy snow is possible. Team Hamilton's North Coast Adventures, Steve and Mike groomed from The NCSC Clubhouse on Trail #12 to Ontonagon to Trail #137 to Trail #13 near Rockland to Trail #101 to Trail #12 into White Pine, Trail #1 to The Porkies Ski Hill. There are some wet spots that will freeze with upcoming cold. Be alert.
Mac took the tractor into The Porkies and groomed Trail #1 to Lake of the Clouds and Trail #11 (South Boundary Road) to Trail 102.
Please use caution on Trail #11 as the recent storm brought more trees down to the trail edges. We will be up there to cut them back a.s.a.p.

But with the help from some we did get some of the down fall cleared so it will be easier from groomers to get through. We will be getting out tomorrow morning and continue clearing and grooming and if all goes well should be able to get on a regular daily grooming schedule. Will give updates as we go. #watersmeet #westernup #snowphotos

ONTONAGON AREA UPDATE via North Country Snowmobile Club UP >> Steve is out on Trail #13, grooming between Hamilton's North Coast Adventures and Rockland. He will then groom Trail #137 into Ontonagon, refuel and groom it all again on the way back.
He then plans to hit Trail #12 into White Pine, continue on Trail #1 to the Porcupine Mountain Ski Hill and do that all over again on the way back to base at HNCA.
Mac will be in the tractor by 3:00 grooming Trail #1 to Lake of the Clouds and when finished hit Trail #11 (South Boundary Road) to Trail #102 and bring it back to beautiful downtown White Pine.
Please be in the lookout for our machines and download Groomer Tracker to know exactly where we are!
