Munising Area Trail Report – 03/24

MUNISING AREA UPDATE via Alger County SORVA – 3/23

TRAIL REPORT – Monday, 03/23/2020
GREAT TRAILS BUT SOCIAL DISTANCING REQUIRED!

UPDATE: We received official notice from the DNR that Grooming Operations are shut down. Trails are open for public use but grooming stops.
Overall trail conditions are good to very good. All of the Main Trails have been groomed and are holding a near perfect condition. Trail 8 North of Shingleton has grooming be finished up tonight with operations then on hold. Grooming Operations will resume when weather permits. We still have a very good base overall with great late season riding conditions. Near the towns we have thin snow on trails running along the roadways. Check Fuel and Food stops if heading out. There are questions coming in with Executive Order 2020-21 and snowmobiling, per the MI DNR website all Trails remain Open following Section 7.Exceptions/a./1. of the order. (copied in the detailed report) Be Safe!

MUNISING AREA UPDATE via TNT Trenary Northern Trails – 3/23

We regret to inform everyone that between the announcement by our governor today and a week of warm weather coming up that we are ending our grooming operations for this season. That does not mean the trail is closed. It is still open until 4/1. It just means you will not see our die hard operators out on the trail until next season. Our gas stations will still be open. Our restaurants have been ceasing operations. Call ahead or check their Facebook pages to find out if they are open. We will start prepping for summer maintenance and getting ready for next season! We do have one HUGE favor to ask of all of you. When things return to normal, PLEASE visit our sponsoring businesses and thank them by buying their products, food, and gas and help get them back on their feet again so they will be there for you next season! Any little bit helps! Stay safe and thank you for the great season!

We will be up to stay in a few weeks! This time we are bringing our village to see the beauty Munising has to offer and the best host in town! Until then, take care Larry! See ya soon!

I noticed some in northern LP and along I-75.

Believe or not, some trees and burning bushes are changing in south-eastern Michigan as well!

No - too soon

Oh no. Not yet!

Some clearing is possible into this evening with patchy fog developing late tonight. Increasingly warm and humid conditions on Sunday will enable additional chances for showers and storms from Sunday afternoon into Sunday night. Heavy rain, damaging winds and large hail are possible in potential strong to severe storms over mainly the west half of Upper Michigan. Stay tuned to forecast updates and remain weather aware on Sunday! #906wx ... See MoreSee Less

I'll still ride then. Lol

You guys killed it last year grooming πŸ‘

We will probably get hammered with snow and have no funding for trail grooming because of the "pandemic"

So true Never had a bad ride our the trails appreciate the hard work and dedication
