Munising Area Trail Report – 03/20
MUNISING AREA UPDATE via Alger County SORVA >> 03/20
We did see 6″ of snow overnight.
We had the trails pretty flat and icy is most areas.
The Snow was wet and heavy. Plenty of wind.
Please watch out for down trees.
There is also some drifting to watch for.
Most trails still have plenty of base but its rock hard.
This fluff on top should make for some good riding.
We will have folks out inspecting today.
After the wind and drifting we will determine what / if makes sense to groom.
Picture shown is showing an example of hazards on side of trail being exposed after some melt down. Pretty standard late season conditions.

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> A cold front will bring light rain and snow showers to the UP today with some lingering snow showers near Lake Superior late. Highs will generally top off in the 40s early, except a bit cooler over the Keweenaw. We got a good 7" inches at the shop! The most snow was North of H58 with a total of 12+ inches!!! Tomorrow will be warm but we have a possible 7-10" inches coming Friday thru Monday!

Pretty much time to quit and clean up your snowmobiles and put them away for the winter

WEATHER UPDATE via Great Lakes Weather & Climate >> ❄ The U.P. is barreling towards a rather potent winter storm on Wednesday into Thursday (3/19-3/20). Winter Storm Watches are currently in effect for much of the peninsula, with the NWS forecasting snowfall that could easily top 6-12 inches.
