MUNISING AREA UPDATE via Alger County Sorva – 3/15
Hello All. We are still working on getting the daily reports going. It seems some thing was broken on the web site after applying security updates. This is being looked in to. Please bear with us.
Trails are in GREAT shape. I was able to spend some time yesterday riding all of our trails. (trail inspections) Both groomers were out last night and the operators were reporting that what they were grooming was not in bad shape. The snow has been compacting after night grooming and lasting. It is warm today and rain forecasted for tomorrow. It is supposed to turn in to snow later in the night. Then snow over the weekend. The weather guessers are predicting some decent accumulations. Do your snow dances. We will be grooming as weather permits. Next week looks to be warm during the day so this will limit us to only grooming nights.

MUNISING AREA UPDATE via TNT Trenary Northern Trails – 03/13
Pictures from the last 2 night. Saturday saw a short clean up run on our east end followed by a full run Sunday night to take advantage of our new snow. We are out right now grooming to get packed what we can before the warm up and rain later this week. Don’t be discouraged! The forecast for this weekend is looking like a good spring storm may happen! Last year, our last run was on the 14th. This year may go longer! If you want to take advantage of the longer riding season, U.P. Sunrise Cottages has openings this weekend and is right off the trail in Little Lake! https://bettertogetherrentals.com/

SAULT STE. MARIE UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association – 03/15
A beautiful sunrise this morning while groomer Warren was making his way along the road to groom by Bay Mills Resort & Casino Here’s his report-
“889 loop to the casino and the Brimley grade are still looking great I saw no bare spots and the base is great, still a 7/10. If we get snow, should be a great weekend down on this end🤙🏾🤙🏾road down to casino is bare dry but snow will help”
Another little bonus in our area, especially as we approach the spring equinox, is the higher likelihood of northern lights. I was lucky enough to be out at Point Iroquois Lighthouse near Bay Mills last night to witness them along with a few of our volunteers. Another excellent place to see them is at the Mission Hill Overlook on trail 889 when conditions are right.
Get up here and enjoy! ❄️❄️❄️

Good morning! Groomer Dave ran from the Soo to Brimley today. This is his report- “Groomed Soo to Brimley this morning. There is a lot of ice for the first mile or so leaving the Soo. But other than that, everything is still white. Grass and bare spots are starting to form along the edges. Today may take a toll though, with the temperature getting up to 40.” The most recent winter storm watch update says 6-13” from Thursday to Saturday. If this pans out, it’s going to be an epic weekend!❄️🤞🍀 Bring it on!!!

SAULT STE. MARIE AREA UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association >> 1/20/26 Good evening! Brimley Bill brought the Pisten Bully in to the Soo barn from Raco via trail 8 and groomed along the way. After 6”+ of new snow yesterday, the berms at the road crossings needed to be cleared. He did a great job and the trail is flat, wide, and beautiful tonight! The Bully is in for a thaw and an oil change and it’ll be back out to Raco tomorrow night. Thanks Bill! ❄️❄️❄️ #soo #soo0120b#snowphotos... See MoreSee Less
