SIDNAW – WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via Sno Valley Riders Snowmobile Club >> 01/19 Groomer Report; We are grooming on a regular basis, conditions allowing. The trails are very good. Please ride on the RIGHT side of the trail and STOP at the stop signs! Stay on the trail, if you don’t we could lose trail permissions on private property. Groomers have the right of way on the trails, pull over and stop to let them safely pass! We now have Groomer Tracker installed in our groomers. We groom every day that the weather conditions and equipment allow. Morning fog and drizzle are possible with increasing chances for showers this afternoon. A few rumbles of thunder are also possible. Additional showers and a few thunderstorms are expected overnight. Snow is likely today, March 7th, 2026 on the backside of the low pressure system moving through, while parts of southern Michigan reach the mid-60s today. Most of the snow will fall along the spine of the western Upper Peninsula, where 2-5" of fresh snow is possible in the cornflower blue coloring. 1-3" of snow also possible in nearby Baraga and western Marquette county. A trace to 1" is possible for all areas in white, but most of these areas won't see more than a couple flurries mixed in with light freezing drizzle. Snow should be done by 10 pm EST across the Upper Peninsula.
The rest of the state will be dealing with temperatures in the 40s to 60s with showers and thunderstorms, clearing by late evening. This will set the stage for a mostly sunny Sunday ahead. Due to the warm weather we will not be grooming for several days.

Had a Groomer run up 1n to White Pine to check out conditions. He's reported back everything was looking good! However, that will be the last Groom until we see conditions change in our favor.
We might lose some trail's to this warmup but the base is strong and we believe another week or 2 is possible on certain sections of our trail system.
