Traverse City Trail Report – 12/15

TRAVERSE CITY AREA UPDATE via Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Club – 12/15

Yesterday was my first time in the groomer this year. We have a lot of downed trees and limbs due to the heavy wet snow we received. Please use extra caution if riding this week as we are running a full groomer schedule in an effort to clear the trails as quickly as we can. We need to get about another 6 inches of snow before the trails will be decent. There is a tremendous amount of ice out there right now.

During my groom I saw about 10 snowmobilers out riding. I also saw where a lot of them were spinning their tracks down to dirt. We do currently have a very good base so if we get some snow the trail should firm up quickly. I will do an update as soon as conditions improve..

TRAVERSE CITY UPDATE via Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Club >> We received about 6-8+ inches of snow today. Groomer Dirk and Groomer David went out on the South and North routes today. The trails groomed up nice, however, both report heavy drifting in areas. Thanks guys for volunteering your time. We will be grooming the south and west trails tomorrow. Remember, Ride Right, Ride Safe, Ride Sober.
When your out riding this weekend, stop by our business sponsor that's on trail 5! Ranch Rudolf has been a long time supporter of GTASC. Stop on by for a bite to eat and refreshments. Sit by the fire and take the chill out from those trails. Follow them on Facebook for the most up to date hours. Thanks Ranch Rudolf for supporting GTASC. Please support those businesses that support our sport. #traversecity #snowphotos

Paradise Area Trail Report – 12/15

December 15, 2020

Okay….its finally lookin a lot like winter out der! It is 16 degrees and a light snow is in the air this morning. We had lake effect bands all day yesterday where it would snow hard and then the sun would come out. I picked up about 5-6 inches on my deck between yesterday and last night. I know some places had a little more than that. It has been cold here for the last week so the ground is starting to freeze. That should help us in da woods with all the water on the trails also. We are not gonna get the groomers out yet though…just not enough snow and cold yet….plus it looks like it will warm up into the low 30`s this weekend….BUMMER!!!! But at least its lookin better than it was!
Keep checking back, I`ll let ya know when we start rockin!!!!
LET `ER SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Groomer Chris!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
