FREDERIC – GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic , Michigan Snowmobiling >> 01/18 I would say we had another 5 inches during saturday, sleds came thru in waves and its been a slow start this morning. Sounds like more snow coming in the next couple days. NWS says only another inch today but its coming down still now. I have heard several stories which is dissheartening. Tickets handed out near the trail at Tinkers for people riding on M road which is M 93, if you ride past the actual trail and still stay down in the ditch to get to Tinkers that is illegal. I dont know the right answer on if there is a legal way to get there. Its only a matter of about 600 feet and if you are down in the ditch its not like you are on the shoulder of the road. I am going to look into this. Also heard of a ticket north of frederic for doing a rolling stop thru a stop sign on the trail. I just wanted to say a little about this. Thanks for checking in. Still alot to melt off here in Frederic, Piles were huge and so very rock hard its still gonna take them a while to melt down. The good thing about all the snow was that it spread the riders out all thru the state which made for a much safer season. Even with that there were still 12 deaths with only 4 in the lower and the rest in the u.p.
