Gaylord Area Trail Report – 01/19
Gaylord Bureau – January 19, 2026 2:00 p.m. We definitely don’t have a shortage of snow! Snow has continued to fall and trails are currently in good condition. We had a busy weekend with lots of riding and it may be bumpy by Lakes of the North and Johannesburg. Trail 7 is looking great! Be safe out there and have fun! Please note, due to last April’s ice storm, there are logging operations in several locations. The newest locations are around Van Tyle and North Townline Road (Gaylord) and the intersection of trails 7 & 4 (Waters) toward Dodge Lake. Logging is also taking place on trail #4 along the powerline that crosses Evergreen Drive and near Turtle Lake Road (East of Gaylord). The logging trucks may use the trail as a road at times. Proceed with caution in these areas. Trails are still passable and the groomers are doing their best to smooth the trails out in these areas. – If you approach a groomer from behind, kindly wait for the operator to signal you to pass.

Good chances for snow showers will continue this week. After the cold today, temperatures rebound a bit Wednesday, but that will not last. Our groomers were out all weekend making up for the down machine. Thank you to our volunteers for adjusting their schedules! Trails have come back around since we’ve received some fresh snow to mix in with the crusty snow left from the meld down. Looks like we may receive another foot by next weekend which will help build back up the trail. This week will be frigid so we will adjust grooming as needed for snowfall and temps.
