Trail Report: 01-6-22
We received 6-8 inches of light fluffy snow yesterday and it is still snowing lightly at this time. The wife and I went out for a ride to see how the trails were and took a few pictures. We definitely need more snow as there is no base on the trails. Conditions are typical early season riding. Groomer Pat is out panning the trails so if your out, please watch out for him and give him a thumbs up. As you can see, some dirt is showing through after he panned but this will lead to better trails so please be patient. I wish I had better news on the trails, but the weather does look to stay cold so keep the snow dances going and remember to Ride Right, Ride Safe.

Everything is snow covered! We got about 6 fresh inches in the valley. Groomers are anticipated to head out today. Currently 9 degrees and lightly snowing. There isn’t much of a trail report at this time because we really haven’t had rideable snow to speak of yet this season. Counter service food and beverage available this Saturday starting at 11:30am. It is forecasted to stay cold enough to hang onto this snow for a bit and we anticipate people will be on the trails this weekend

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Snow showers will gradually weaken later this morning before picking up again this afternoon and continuing through Wednesday. An additional 4-8” is expected across parts of northwest lower and eastern upper by Wednesday evening with localized higher amounts possible. -Winter Storm Warnings for counties shaded in pink and Winter Weather Advisories for counties in blueish/purple until 7pm Wednesday.
-Some areas could see 9-12"+ in Antrim, Otsego, Crawford & Kalkaska Counties. Same for areas of Luce & Chippewa Counties. Winds could be gusting upwards of 40mph blowing and drifting the fresh snow.

TRAVERSE CITY UPDATE via Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Club >> We received varying amounts (6 to 12 inches) of snow throughout the trails so far. We have some members going out tomorrow looking for downed trees due to the high winds. The groomers will be going out on the south and west trails tomorrow to pan the new snow down. If your out and see a downed tree that needs cleaned up, send us a message. Be careful out there and remember, Ride Right, Ride Safe, Ride Sober. #traversecity
