TRAVERSE CITY AREA UPDATE via Ranch Rudolf – 1/9
Just wanted to be sure you saw our update that groomers did not go out last night as there just isn’t enough snow to work with. Although the things are mostly snow covered when looking out the window, trails are down to dirt in many spots are are considered to be in poor condition. We will update again when there is a change in trail status.
We will be open again next Saturday 1/15 at 11:30am. Still one hayride time available next Sunday 1/16, 231-947-9529 for reservations 🐴

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Lake effect snow continues tonight through Wednesday with additional accumulations of 4-8" across the snow belts. Locally higher amounts will be possible. Attached is a timing and intensity animation that depicts the heaviest snow this evening into the early overnight, and then again through the day on Wednesday. #miweather #gaylord #cadillac #benzie #traversecity #petoskey #soo #newberry
TRAVERSE CITY AREA UPDATE via Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Club >> And with the wind, down come the tree's! A group of members went out today to take care of the downed tree's on the South and West trails.
There is still more that needs to be completed, so be aware if you are out riding. Special thanks to Paul, David, Pat, Steve and Jeff for volunteering their time. Thanks to the group of riders coming from Kingsley that helped out with one of the tree's. Also, thanks to the gentleman from Fife Lake that came with a large chain saws for a big tree that had fallen there. It takes everyone lending a hand to keep these trails safe. The trails are being panned and the groomer drivers are reporting numerous water holes due to the rain we received prior to the snow. Be careful out there. Remember, Ride Right, Ride Safe, Ride Sober. #traversecity #snowphotos

An additional 4-8” is expected across parts of northwest lower and eastern upper by Wednesday evening with localized higher amounts possible. -Winter Storm Warnings for counties shaded in pink and Winter Weather Advisories for counties in blueish/purple until 7pm Wednesday.
-Some areas could see 9-12"+ in Antrim, Otsego, Crawford & Kalkaska Counties. Same for areas of Luce & Chippewa Counties. Winds could be gusting upwards of 40mph blowing and drifting the fresh snow.

We have some members going out tomorrow looking for downed trees due to the high winds. The groomers will be going out on the south and west trails tomorrow to pan the new snow down. If your out and see a downed tree that needs cleaned up, send us a message. Be careful out there and remember, Ride Right, Ride Safe, Ride Sober. #traversecity
