Munising Area Trail Report – 01/21
TRAIL REPORT January 21, 2022
STILL WORKIN’ OVERTIME!
Sorry no pictures sent by the operators so here’s Chum riding shotgun with Operator Al. No new snow fell overnight but the trail system in an overall very good condition, good in towns and near roadways. Groomer Operators were still working overtime and getting very good results. Looks like our Bully is going to be down until early next week, grant paperwork is completed with scheduling set, just waiting for parts and the Bully technician. It’s extra work right now but everyone will be doing what they can to keep the trail grooming un-interrupted. Still more Snow is in the forecast so get out and ride safe, stay right and enjoy the great riding conditions! Keep doing the Cold Weather Snow Dancing and Stay Tuned for updates!

MUNISING AREA UPDATE via TNT Trenary Northern Trails >> Groomer operators were checking traffic levels and we had feedback from some drift busters and we will be looking into conditions tomorrow before we pull the trigger on grooming. Conditions are getting more favorable, but the snow isn’t settling fast enough with sleds avoiding the drifts and knocking the air out of them. At 16 thousand pounds, the groomer doesn’t float enough in soft deep snow and we dont have a second machine to self rescue. So bear with us as we constantly monitor and discuss amongst our operators on the earliest optimum time to safely hit the trail. Guaranteed, as soon as we all agree on a green light, you will have a smooth trail! #munising #snowphotos

The exception will be in the northwest wind snowbelts where up to 4” of dry fluffy snow is possible.
