GRAND MARAIS UPDATE via Grand Marais Outfitters – 2/27
From Phil last night/early this morning -Saturday February 26th groomed trails, 8 west, 888 and 88 to the west side of highway M77. "The North run’
By now everyone knows what the trails were like before we went out and groomed. So I report how they are after I groomed them.
Excellent riding conditions, with a soft trail base and plenty of snow. It’s not to difficult to get them flattened back into shape.
11 miles south of Grand Marais, 4" fresh snow fell, in GM bout 1".
Ready for another busy day

Around 4 inches of snow last night. I see the groomers all made it out. I would guess the trails should freeze up flat now.
I would imagine it will be lower traffic during the week. It would be a pretty good week to ride if you can sneak away! #newberry #snowphotos
WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Quieter weather settles in across the U.P. today as lingering snow showers tapering off this morning. A weak clipper system will bring another round of light snow tonight, but only expect another inch or so of accumulation in most locations. WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Widespread snow will begin to spread west to east this morning while a heavier snowband looks to set up in the central UP this afternoon. Uncertainty still remains where this snowband will park, however, heavy snowfall rates will likely create difficult travel along US-41 from Delta to Marquette/Alger counties. Tonight, widespread snow transitions to lake effect snow for the north wind snowbelts.
