Get up here and ride!!!

NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via WOLF INN – 3/11

Beautiful snowy Friday afternoon in the UP! Great way to start the weekend!! ❄️❄️❄️

NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via TASA – 3/9

March 9, 2022 9:00am

Despite the slight and we mean slight warm up that is only because the sun was shining which is often rare in the U.P. in the winter, the trails are in good shape. We have the tops scraped off and trails panned down nice. Hard and smooth, not to say you won’t find a bump here or there. The side rails on one side of the bridge on the charcoal grade (Trail 45) are missing. It is currently taped off on the one side and signs will be placed to slow down approaching and crossing the bridge! We will groom all the trails late today and tonight. As always we want to encourage safe and responsible riding!! Please ride with caution.

The staging area in town at the tracks is muddy and the alley ways are the same.

Stay on the Trail!! Ride Right and Be Safe!! Please be respectful of private property, howbeit it fields or peoples front yards.
Curfew in the Village of Newberry is 11:00pm to 7:00am.
Trail 9: Groomed to Holland Lake last night. Grooming this afternoon into the evening hours. Good to Fair in spots!
Trail 45: Groomed to the Falls last night. Grooming this afternoon into the evening hours. Good to Fair! Please see the note above regarding the bridge on the charcoal grade. Please use caution in this area.

Trial 9/2 South: Groomed down to Trout Lake last night. Grooming this afternoon into the evening hours the other spur to Epoufette. Good to Fair!

Thank you to all the team at the groomers barn who puts in countless hours to keep the system groomed and maintenance on the machines!

Your grooming team from the TASA Barn!!

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Mixed precipitation, mainly of rain and snow, will spread west to east across the UP tonight into tomorrow morning. Pockets of freezing rain could also mix in at onset and lead to a light glaze of ice on roadways for the Tuesday morning commute. Heavy lake effect snow will then be reinvigorated with a secondary cold front Tuesday night into Wednesday morning across the N and NW wind snow belts. This will combine with northerly winds of 40 to 50 mph, resulting in blowing snow and near zero visibilities for the Wednesday morning commute. #miweather #keweenaw #westernup #marquette #munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsareaMixed precipitation, mainly of rain and snow, will spread west to east across the UP tonight into tomorrow morning. Michigan Snowmobile Trail Report

WEATHER UPDATE via Michigan Storm Chasers >> It's noon here on Monday, January 12th, and this week does present a couple instances of lake effect snow throughout the week. As a preliminary first call for the entire week, we've displayed current odds at areas receiving more than 4" of snow based on data from medium range models, and the WPC.
Most of the lake effect snow for the UP will fall between Tuesday and Thursday, where much of the higher elevation areas along Lake Superior currently have a greater than 50% chance at 4" of snow by the end of the work week. For much of the LP, lake effect snow will be confined primarily to Lake Michigan and Lake Huron, especially AFTER Wednesday heading into Thursday. We are keeping an area of 1-20% across much of southern and central Michigan in the event wind shifts or passing clippers allow for extra accumulation, but the greatest chances for 4" will be in the far southwest corner, the thumb, or your typical lake effect zones across northern lower Michigan.
We have lake effect snow forecasts coming all week, along with other forecasts for other weather phenomena such as wind, rain, and perhaps mixed precipitation. Paradise Area Trail Report – 03/12

March 12, 2022

I`ll say it again…..Holy Wah!!! Winter isn`t ready to let up just yet. It is 13 degrees this morning with a stiff NW breeze and snowing. We picked up close to 6 inches of snow yesterday and another solid 3 last night! All of you that decided to come UP for one last ride this weekend are really happy! The weather guessers are calling for snow the next couple of days and then temps up into the 40`s by the middle of next week tho.

All of our trails are in great shape and we are running a full grooming schedule. I`ve had quite a few e-mails with people asking me about when we are gonna stop grooming. All I have to say is…..we`ll groom until the weather doesn`t permit us anymore, or until March 31st, whichever comes first. Keep a close eye on my reports and I`ll let ya`ll know whats UP…..as always.
All I really have for ya`s today. If ya get a chance…..come on UP!!! By the looks of things, it might be the last good week.

RIDE RIGHT….RIDE SAFE

Groomer Chris
