“ Hello- We have received about 5-6″ as of midnight tonight! Things are looking up for an enjoyable Pres. Day weekend. Can’t comment on areas very far away, but our immediate Coyote, LPL, Boon, Mesick areas should be rideable/decent for this weekend. Expect ICY spots throughout , but we should have enough snow to enjoy the weekend. RIDE RIGHT! Pete “

We’ve gotten 2-3” of fresh snow, so far, and it’s still snowing. If we get another 2-3”, the trails should be decent!
• Ski slopes are in good shape now!

33 Rd Staging Area–S of M-55–approx.. 3 miles west of Cadillac on M-55 (watch for signs)
Caberfae Staging Area–approx.. 12 miles west of Cadillac on M-55 (watch for signs)
Boon Staging Area–park in plowed area south of Boon Grocery
Note: The porta-a-johns were removed from our staging areas today as our contracts on them expired 3-15-13.

Trail conditions are fantastic right now in the Cadillac area! Groomers are all out hitting the trails after a busy MLK Weekend, followed by over 12" of fresh snow! I would rate most of our system an 8 or 9 out of 10 at this point. #cadillac #snowphotos

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Cold temperatures and continued brisk winds tonight will result in bitter cold wind chills of -10°F to -24°F across northern Michigan this morning. Be sure to take the proper precautions if spending time outdoors! Conditions improve this afternoon.
Good chances for snow showers will continue this week. After the cold today, temperatures rebound a bit Wednesday, but that will not last. New snowfall of 4-8” with locally higher amounts are possible by Monday night/Tuesday morning. Wind gusts of 30-45+ mph are expected Monday morning and afternoon. Wind chills will drop well below zero through Tuesday as well. Combination of heavy snow, winds, and cold will create widespread hazardous travel conditions across northern Michigan with whiteouts possible at times, especially across open areas.
