We have been out working on trail 9 fixing all the high pushed up corners back flat All our trails were groomed last night and they will all be done again tonight from Newberry to holland lake trail head and back then from Newberry to the upper Falls and back then from Newberry to cut river and back enjoy them while it isn’t so busy before the weekend gets here…

Some miles out of Newberry Holland Lake Park and Ride bound, not bad at all so far!
Mostly flat as a pancake..
8:45 pretty lonely in Windy Corners tonight.
80-20 my favor in the git outta my way dept. So far, 😊
72 sleds in two hours …
11:05. Have been spending some time cutting the sticks out if the banks in some of our corners, hard to stay to the right in and out of some of them, started snowing pretty good so I’m stayin in for awhile
You may have noticed our President Chad spent a day out her leveling and pushing corners back, helped immensely.
Be careful on this bridge, they look like guardrails, but they are not, we are above them now.
1:01 Pine Stump, just got and checked the road, 4″ of fresh has fallen since I turned north from Windy Corner!

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Expect a wintery mix to develop across the U.P. tonight and continue into Friday morning, ending west to east through the day. Mainly snow is expected for the far north and east with mainly freezing rain near the MI/WI stateline. Those with travel plans should leave extra time for travel as roads could be slippery. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect tonight into Friday for the entire U.P.

Discussion
The north side of the low will have much colder air, and the deformation zone for this event will be set up across the eastern UP and Lake Superior region. Totals greater than 1" of snow (some melting) will be confined north of M-55 to the Mackinac Bridge, while totals closer to the 3"+ mark are confined from St. Ignace up to Paradise and Sault Ste. Marie. Additionally, the Keweenaw Peninsula also may see the highest snowfall totals too.
You may have noticed that we added a new color for this event only. Because there is a gradual change from rain to snow... freezing rain, and even sleet is expected with this event. Sleet is like the shared sibling between snow and freezing rain. Sleet is snow that melted to rain really high up immediately after falling from the clouds, but spent enough time in the cold sector after melting to reform into tiny pellets. Freezing rain, however, forms when there isn't enough time for the rain to reform back into those tiny ice pellets due to that warm sector close to the ground, but because the ground itself IS a cold sector, it freezes on contact. Yes, sleet is slippery, but due to its properties, it's not quite as impactful. Still, because of the sleet's size, it accumulates in tenths of an inch similar to snow instead of hundredths like freezing rain. As a result, much of the white trace-1" corridor will likely fall as <1" of both snow and sleet. Again, not a huge amount, but worth mentioning. Timing for this snowfall will be similar to that of the ice. Anytime from 6 am EST Friday through the end of the day Friday is the expected duration.
Winter weather advisories are now in effect for the eastern UP regarding this snowfall. We will have traffic impact maps and timing maps coming later this afternoon after our Christmas morning activities. See you all back here soon!

12 degrees this morning under a mostly clear sky. Here`s the trail report on how things went yesterday.....
We took 2 machines w/o drags and headed out on the Falls trail #45. Unfortunately I can`t give you any good news. It was U.G.L.Y. In fact, da boss said it was the worst he`s ever seen....bummer. He did say you could make it from the Upper Falls to the Lower to get fuel at the Lower but be careful. From the Lower Falls to Paradise IS NOT PASSABLE!!! There is a video on our FB page to show you how bad it was. We need more snow and cold to even try this again in a groomer. Word of warning.....it is ILLEGAL to ride on M-123 from town to the Falls! Nothing else was run, we need more snow. The Point trails are ridable and the Pine Stump trail is also but thin in a lot of spots. We haven`t ran south on trail #8 since last weekend either. Simply put, we need more snow. This weeks forecast doesn`t look that promising for any great amounts either. Sorry for all the bad news......just being honest.
I`ll let ya`ll know when things start improving.
