FREDERIC – GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic , Michigan Snowmobiling >> 12/24 Merry Christmas Eve day. To bad the sun is out and going to melt more of our snow today. It made it up to 43 yesterday and we lost alot. I saw a few sleds across the street and heard one brapp yesterday. Very quiet out there this morning and its not looking like we will get any snow until about New Years which is not what we want to see. Even Grayling was like a ghost town when I drove thru town this morning. Pics below are from a the long lost tribe of Frederican Mohicans gathering and chanting MO MO NAH CHEE CHEE NAH in hopes of some fresh snow. I ran into them last night. Temperatures are slow-going to rise, then suddenly as we reach the afternoon hours, temperatures snap into the mid-40's for much of the state. Many locations close to the MI/OH border may surpass 50°F. Further north, mid-30's are likely. Sunshine will be noticeable out there today, as partly cloudy skies are the main icon. Winds will increase beyond noon as well, gusting between 20-30 mph for most, with some isolated spots in northeast Michigan, and along Lake Superior gusting 30-40 mph. Winds will be out of the west, and more details on the wind will be posted next. A light round of mixed precipitation is possible overnight into Wednesday for the Sault Ste. Marie region.

The rest of this week is expected to be cold but very little to no snow with high 30’s on Saturday. The end of next week is predicted to have high 30’s with some freezing rain.

Forcast is not favorable for later this week but I am sure there will be some sleds out and about as people
just do not want to wait. Hoping it will kick in but thats the best we can do. Its still nice and white out even though we lost alot of snow.
