Stay warm, stay safe, and as always… Ride Right, Lead Right — and remember, the groomer always has the right of way! <> SIDNAW – WESTERN U.P. via Sno Valley Riders Snowmobile Club >> 12/24 Groomer Report: Not much has changed in the last few days, all of our trials are open and groomed. It is still early season riding in many areas, watch out for wet spots and some thin snow areas. Overall I am calling our trails FAIR, there are some areas that are excellent and some that are not great but all are rideable. Stay on the trail, if you don’t we could lose trail permissions on private property. Groomers have the right of way on the trails, pull over and stop to let them safely pass! We now have Groomer Tracker installed in our groomers. We groom every day that the weather conditions and equipment allow. There is the potential for significant snow, sleet and freezing rain (ice) accumulations. The combination of ice on trees/powerlines and wind could result in power outages. At this time, there has been a significant decrease in snow amounts and a trend toward higher ice accumulations. By tomorrow, the wintry precipitation will become more confined to the north, while showers and thunderstorms sneak into the southern counties. A few of these storms could even become strong at times with large hail. ❄️ A half-hour drive north of Lake Gogebic, you’ll encounter Lake Superior. Known for its lake effect snow, Gitche Gumee is always moody.
❄️ Friday, March 27th: Here’s a look at lakefront conditions in Ontonagon County. A band of lake effect snow moved in, dropping two inches in one hour.
