I’m Melting. It still looks like its gonna be a long while till we get back to riding if at all. When I opened my door at home this morning the first thing I heard was dripping water off the roof. Still alot of white if you look into the woods but the trails are pretty ugly. I wish I had better things to say but we are toast for now. I was closed this past weekend and if I find something more fun to do that be here I might be closed again. I hope they can pull off the I 500 in the Soo this weekend and I will be here bright and early tommorow morning to watch the Wertz Warrior ride pull into the Swamp. That should be interesting. Somewhere in my travels on monday the Wertz Warriors semi trucks passed me. They are supposed to be pulling into Frederic between 9 and 10 tommorow morning. I wll do a video and pics from there. I cant believe that they will have any sleds riding but time will tell. Weather on t.v. just said above average temps for the next 7 days. Its now tuesday about noon as I type this.Trail crossing pics are from this morning.

FREDERIC - GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic , Michigan Snowmobiling >> Frosty and crunchy at 4 degrees on friday morning in Frederic, I saw the groomer heading out on 47 trail by the high school and 2 sleds right at that corner too. Already been several sleds in this morning and I made an early trip to the Sled Shed to get me some carbides for my ski doo. Those carbides have been on back order all season and I got the last set of 6 inch from Sled Shed. I wanted to make sure I get to ride again. I am happy to say that several riders told me that all trails they were on were well groomed. That is good to hear. The OSSA group were in here yesterday afternoon and they are staying up in Gaylord this year and at least we have great snow this year. Thanks Gary Hines for stopping in with everyone. Already sold the 4 pair of Gauntlets that I had this morning. My frederic-mi.com site is messed up again and Rebecca is on that. I was bummed to see the guys that were winter camping in my back lot left last night. I thought they were staying thru the weekend. Thanks for checking in. Pete #gaylord #snowphotos
WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Dangerous wind chills will be widespread today, especially this morning. Wind chills in the 20s below zero; some areas could feel as cold as -30F. This will be dangerous, as frostbite can develop in as little as 30 minutes on exposed skin. Limit time outdoors and dress in layers. Keep a winter weather survival kit in your vehicle in case you get stranded.
Gusty northwest winds plus continued powdery lake effect snow will lead to significant reductions in visibility with whiteouts at times through this afternoon, especially in open areas where snow can easily blow around. FREDERIC - GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic , Michigan Snowmobiling >> been trying to get onto my frederic page and cant do it, its now 4 on thursday, rode yesterday to gaylord, then vienna corners back to lovells and then frederic for a great 80 miles. Had loader here again today, sleds downtown grayling at the restaurant, winter campers in back yard of sledheads, yummy burger at vienna loader really stacked it up this time. hope to get my other page going again, dont know wha the deal is, lots of wind and white outs today, supposed to get colder tommorow. FREDERIC - GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic , Michigan Snowmobiling >> Had a great 160 mile ride yesterday. Started out riding to Frederic from home and then to Starvation Lake, Alba, Jordan Valley Trail, D & K formally Larrys in Elmira, up the Chandler HIlls trail until I lost the trail right at dark, then a little ditch banging as after i lost the trail I started south and east as I knew I would hit the highway. Came out by Vanderbilt and theh hit the 7 trail back to Gaylord, Waters and Frederic…..Perfect day of riding. Met up with Big John and Speed Bump for Spike burgers about 9 last night.I might go again this afternoon as I am thinking about a burger at Talleys. Supposed to get cold this weekend.
