It’s a sunny and cold snowless saturday, I finally showed up here to Sledheads about 11 to spend the rest of the day here. This morning was one of the coldest mornings of the whole so called winter at about 5 degrees out when I got up. Now its up to 22 degrees On the way here I saw two atv’s and 2 side bys out riding near Tinkers Junction. I also saw one sled heading south but that was on a trailer. A couple friends pointed out that my travels in the past week took me from Lake Superior at the Soo for the I 500 and thats as far north as you can go to Key West as far south as you can go on the Atlantic to Santa Barbara on the Pacific at the west coast. And on the way back a pit stop in Denver in the Mile high city. I keep sitting here day dreaming about places to go. I saw a post from Alaskan Toy Rental in Palmer , AK and that is intriguing. A big shout out to Farmer Scott down in Ohio who bought me a delicious as usual prime rib dinner at the Frederic Inn last night. Thanks Scott. My photographer on the other hand didnt do my picture any justice. I also got to wear my man bib made for me by Mrs Moorbeck. It sure helps keep my shirts clean. Thats enough rambling for today. Cant was for the 50 degree end of February weather next week. Thanks for checking on. Pete.

FREDERIC - GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic , Michigan Snowmobiling >> Had a great 160 mile ride yesterday. Started out riding to Frederic from home and then to Starvation Lake, Alba, Jordan Valley Trail, D & K formally Larrys in Elmira, up the Chandler HIlls trail until I lost the trail right at dark, then a little ditch banging as after i lost the trail I started south and east as I knew I would hit the highway. Came out by Vanderbilt and theh hit the 7 trail back to Gaylord, Waters and Frederic…..Perfect day of riding. Met up with Big John and Speed Bump for Spike burgers about 9 last night.I might go again this afternoon as I am thinking about a burger at Talleys. Supposed to get cold this weekend. WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> A system passing to our south will bring another round of light snow to the area through Wednesday morning. Rode to Lovells last night and then home, left home this morning and rode towards Starvation Lake and then down to Frederic, conditions on trails nice and fluffy and smooth. Happy to say that trail 7 south out of Frederic along with trails 47, 679 and 76 all very nice. I rode 26 miles back here to Frederic and came into sledheads to warm up and am heading back out. Its 16 degrees at almost 1 in the afternoon. Pics are from last night and this morning. Heading back out. Closed again and gone riding. Thanks for checking in. Pete #gaylord #snowphotos

Rode to Lovells last night and then home, left home this morning and rode towards Starvation Lake and then down to Frederic, conditions on trails nice and fluffy an… WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Cold temperatures and continued brisk winds tonight will result in bitter cold wind chills of -10°F to -24°F across northern Michigan this morning. Be sure to take the proper precautions if spending time outdoors! Conditions improve this afternoon.
Good chances for snow showers will continue this week. After the cold today, temperatures rebound a bit Wednesday, but that will not last. Cold air starts to return on Thursday, and Friday looks to be perhaps the coldest day of the winter so far. #miweather #gaylord #cadillac #benzie #traversecity #petoskey
