CADILLAC AREA UPDATE via Coyote Crossing Resort – 01/13
New Snow Last 24 hrs: 4-5″
Hello- Got 3-4” in last day with some rain/snow mix and then fresh snow on top … there likely will be some spot grooming done, but don’t want to disturb the base too much yet … When dirt gets mixed in with the snow, we lose the rigidity of the ice base. Several people were riding this past weekend, but decent conditions were very localized from Coyote up to Mesick. Check out Coyote webcam for current pictures. Cold temps and some snow are in the forecast… THINK SNOW! Pete

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Times of rain, snow and a rain/snow mix will be seen today for most of northern MI today. Up to 2 inches of wet, slushy snow is possible for parts of eastern upper by this evening. Some spots could see brief freezing rain, however temperatures will rise to above freezing today for most areas. Trails are holding up fairly well. Warmer temps today and tomorrow are expected with highs in the mid-30's. Most all of the Cadillac system has been hit by a groomer, but probably won't be on regular groomer schedule until we get colder temps and a little more snow. #cadillac #snowphotos

Some parts in northeast lower and far eastern upper Michigan may break out into partial sunshine this afternoon. However, north-northwest to northwest winds today will remain brisk. Gusts to around 30 mph will be common.
