Bergland Area Groomer’s touching base. 1/27/25. Due to unforseen circumstances. Tonight was rescue and recovery type night. Blown hydro line 3 miles in to their run. Anyone that’s been around any type of grooming organization knows and waits for this to happen. Thankfully both machines are back at the shed and repairs will take place tomorrow. Thank you Steve and Albert for taking that extra step to get #9 back to the barn. Truly, Thank you!! Hopefully this will be a quick turnaround and we’ll have her back running again in a day or 2.. WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Lake effect snow showers persist over the northwest wind snow belts through tonight, with the highest totals - potentially up to 4 to 7 inches - in the eastern UP. 1n, 13n, 13s and 8e, the Corridor and access trail's were all covered tonight.
Timberline Rental, Timberline's main shop and AJ's opened up.
Hoop n Holler access was attempted but not passable. We'll have to figure out an alternate but that won't happen instantly.
1s remains closed due to logging. Hopefully we will have an update on that soon.

WATERSMEET - WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via U.P. Thunder Riders Snowmobile Club >> UPDATED 12/30/25- Groomers were finally able to get out today and groom our entire system and clear all big obstacles that were on or blocking the trails. Both groomers were out 9 to 10 hours to get through everything but still expect some mirror wackers as it will take a while to get all them. We got anywhere from probably 12 to 20 inches of snow so it is going to take a few days before the trails are really going to set up. We will be on a more consistent grooming schedule moving forward as long as weather cooperates and groomer drivers are available. Big thanks to some of the snowmobilers that stopped and help us clear some of the big trees and if you see something on the trails please try to pick it up to help our drivers out. LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via AJ's Lodge and Oven >> Received an update from a rider who did the loop: 8E–13N–101–12W–1N–102. With the exception of 8 out-of-town trails, conditions are reported to be fantastic.”

The exception will be in the northwest wind snowbelts where up to 4” of dry fluffy snow is possible. ONTONAGON AREA UPDATE via North Country Snowmobile Club UP >> Trail Report 12/30/25:
Team Hamilton's North Coast Adventures, Steve and Mike groomed from The NCSC Clubhouse on Trail #12 to Ontonagon to Trail #137 to Trail #13 near Rockland to Trail #101 to Trail #12 into White Pine, Trail #1 to The Porkies Ski Hill. There are some wet spots that will freeze with upcoming cold. Be alert.
Mac took the tractor into The Porkies and groomed Trail #1 to Lake of the Clouds and Trail #11 (South Boundary Road) to Trail 102.
Please use caution on Trail #11 as the recent storm brought more trees down to the trail edges. We will be up there to cut them back a.s.a.p.

WATERSMEET - WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via U.P. Thunder Riders Snowmobile Club >> UPDATED evening- 12/29/25 due to power outages and clearing snow we were not able to get groomers out today. But with the help from some we did get some of the down fall cleared so it will be easier from groomers to get through. We will be getting out tomorrow morning and continue clearing and grooming and if all goes well should be able to get on a regular daily grooming schedule.
