Lake Gogebic Trail Report – 01/19

LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Gogebic Area Grooming >> 01/19

Bergland Area update for 1/19/25. A cold -8 this morning with a couple inches of fresh snow.. All trails were covered last night. Thank you so much to all our Groomer operators. It’s been a tough week as you can see in the pictures, with heavy traffic it’s almost a complete reset nightly!

Snow conditions…Trail 8e is thin towards Ewen. Closer to Bergland noticably better. 1s to Marenisco, good until around the area of our turnaround where logging is active. 8w to Wakefield. Everything has frozen over and no more water holes! 13s to the Root Cellar or trail 100, good but get’s thin south of RC. 13n to Rockland, good but heavily traveled and deteriorates by afternoon. 102 and 1n are the same.

We are doing what we can to keep up and we appreciate every one of you that visit the area!! Be safe Gogebic Area Grooming ❄❄❄

WATERSMEET - WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via U.P. Thunder Riders Snowmobile Club >> UPDATED 12/30/25- Groomers were finally able to get out today and groom our entire system and clear all big obstacles that were on or blocking the trails. Both groomers were out 9 to 10 hours to get through everything but still expect some mirror wackers as it will take a while to get all them. We got anywhere from probably 12 to 20 inches of snow so it is going to take a few days before the trails are really going to set up. We will be on a more consistent grooming schedule moving forward as long as weather cooperates and groomer drivers are available. Big thanks to some of the snowmobilers that stopped and help us clear some of the big trees and if you see something on the trails please try to pick it up to help our drivers out. Remember Ride Right and Ride Safe. #watersmeet #westernup #snowphotos ... See MoreSee Less
