FREDERIC / GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic – 03/07
Wet Roads, sunny skies and packy melting snow at 36 degrees. Its now tuesday at noon. Sorry I havent been on here the past few days but as usual conditions have sucked. While the ground is white here in frederic there is really only a couple inches out there. I did however just watch 3 sleds ride into town so at least they are thinking its good enough to ride.
Weather outlook for the week is chance of snow on friday and thats it so I would not expect anything exciting to happen. I havent seen or heard what is happening in the u.p. so I have to catch up on that. Pics below are from out front of sledheads at about noon. On the bright side only about 49 more weeks till the season opens for next season. Thanks for checking in. Pete

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Gusty winds combined with powdery lake effect snow will continue to lead to significant reductions in visibility with whiteouts at times through Friday, especially in open areas where snow can easily blow around. FREDERIC - GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic , Michigan Snowmobiling >> been trying to get onto my frederic page and cant do it, its now 4 on thursday, rode yesterday to gaylord, then vienna corners back to lovells and then frederic for a great 80 miles. Had loader here again today, sleds downtown grayling at the restaurant, winter campers in back yard of sledheads, yummy burger at vienna loader really stacked it up this time. hope to get my other page going again, dont know wha the deal is, lots of wind and white outs today, supposed to get colder tommorow. OSSA crew from Ohio State Snowmobile Association were and on their annual ride based out of Gaylord this year. Thanks for checking in. Pete #gaylord #snowphotos

Started out riding to Frederic from home and then to Starvation Lake, Alba, Jordan Valley Trail, D & K formally Larrys in Elmira, up the Chandler HIlls trail until I lost the trail right at dark, then a little ditch banging as after i lost the trail I started south and east as I knew I would hit the highway. Came out by Vanderbilt and theh hit the 7 trail back to Gaylord, Waters and Frederic…..Perfect day of riding. Met up with Big John and Speed Bump for Spike burgers about 9 last night.I might go again this afternoon as I am thinking about a burger at Talleys. Supposed to get cold this weekend. Rode to Lovells last night and then home, left home this morning and rode towards Starvation Lake and then down to Frederic, conditions on trails nice and fluffy and smooth. Happy to say that trail 7 south out of Frederic along with trails 47, 679 and 76 all very nice. I rode 26 miles back here to Frederic and came into sledheads to warm up and am heading back out. Its 16 degrees at almost 1 in the afternoon. Pics are from last night and this morning. Heading back out. Closed again and gone riding. Thanks for checking in. Pete #gaylord #snowphotos
