FREDERIC / GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic – 03/07 Wet Roads, sunny skies and packy melting snow at 36 degrees. Its now tuesday at noon. Sorry I havent been on here the past few days but as usual conditions have sucked. While the ground is white here in frederic there is really only a couple inches out there. I did however just watch 3 sleds ride into town so at least they are thinking its good enough to ride. Weather outlook for the week is chance of snow on friday and thats it so I would not expect anything exciting to happen. I havent seen or heard what is happening in the u.p. so I have to catch up on that. Pics below are from out front of sledheads at about noon. On the bright side only about 49 more weeks till the season opens for next season. Thanks for checking in. Several inches of new snow likely through tonight, heaviest across parts of the eastern U.P. and northwest lower. Snow combined with strong winds will result in whiteouts at times, especially near the Lake Michigan shoreline. Cold temperatures filter in to northern Michigan behind the major winter storm. Consequently, for those without power, dangerously cold temperatures are expected this afternoon through Tuesday night. #miweather #gaylord #cadillac #benzie #traversecity #petoskey 
They report that tree damage has led to ~87% of the county's residents losing power as of this morning (3/16). One webcam that was operational on the east side of the lake displays ice-encrusted trees along the shoreline.
