SAULT STE. MARIE UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association – 03/11
A few pics from Nick’s run tonight on 8 from Ranger Rd in Raco to Brimley and 480 from 8 to the Spile Dam turn around. The bare road part is the plowed part of 480 south of m28. If we could get just a few inches of snow, we’d still be in good shape everywhere. The roads are the worst part now.
Ride safe and watch for changing conditions, typical for this time of year.
SAULT STE. MARIE AREA UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association >> 1/21/26 Good morning! Bryan and his son Logan hit the city trails last night and also 49 down to 7 mile and they turned out great! The little streams behind Kewadin Casino are still flowing (see the video in the comments) even with all of the cold, but our bridges have made a huge difference in there! There is one spot along the Kewadin trail that is soft and we keep filling it in as best we can. Likely a nonissue for the weight of a sled, but worth mentioning. Thank you Bryan and Logan!!❄️❄️❄️ #soo #soo0121b#snowphotos... See MoreSee Less

SAULT STE. MARIE AREA UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association >> 1/20/26 Good evening! Brimley Bill brought the Pisten Bully in to the Soo barn from Raco via trail 8 and groomed along the way. After 6”+ of new snow yesterday, the berms at the road crossings needed to be cleared. He did a great job and the trail is flat, wide, and beautiful tonight! The Bully is in for a thaw and an oil change and it’ll be back out to Raco tomorrow night. Thanks Bill! ❄️❄️❄️ #soo #soo0120b#snowphotos... See MoreSee Less

As of this moment we have only one groomer operational so we will do our best to keep the trails good. All the trails are wet and getting thin with the warm weather, but are still in fair condition, trail 45 has mud again where the logging has been going on but we are working to try to bring some snow back in from the edges. It is currently 30 degrees and sunny.
