MUNISING AREA UPDATE via Alger County Sorva – 3/13
Hello! Let me apologize for lack of reports over this past weekend. I can assure you we have been out grooming. Trail reports are being transitioned to new folks and should be back to normal this week.
We had a significant failure with our older drag that required extensive welding and fabrication. The entire wheel assembly that lifts the rear of the drag broke and twisted up. Hydro rams broken, steel twisted up like a pretzel. The team really came together to get the repairs completed.
Sending out a big THANK YOU to those who worked on this effort. From shuttling people back and forth between Chrismas and Shingleton, to running for parts in Marquette, to the welding and fabrication.
We are getting some new snow. Trails in town really need it. Over all things are holding up great once you get away from town. Still great late season riding.
More updates to come soon.
Stay Safe – Ride Right!

MUNISING AREA UPDATE via TNT Trenary Northern Trails – 03/13
Pictures from the last 2 night. Saturday saw a short clean up run on our east end followed by a full run Sunday night to take advantage of our new snow. We are out right now grooming to get packed what we can before the warm up and rain later this week. Don’t be discouraged! The forecast for this weekend is looking like a good spring storm may happen! Last year, our last run was on the 14th. This year may go longer! If you want to take advantage of the longer riding season, U.P. Sunrise Cottages has openings this weekend and is right off the trail in Little Lake! https://bettertogetherrentals.com/

SAULT STE. MARIE UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association – 03/13
Good afternoon!
Still out doing what we can!
I heard from Lane after his run in the Kinross area, south of M80 this morning-
“I groomed 49, 494 loop this morning. There were some heavy equipment tracks on 494 that I got smoothed out. That loop turned out very well for conditions. There are a couple slick spots but not bad at all. The plowed road towards Pickford has some bare spots but still easy to get past them. Overall great for the poor snow conditions.”
We are keeping our eye on the potential for some significant snow ahead of the weekend. As always, we’ll believe it when we see it but man, wouldn’t it be awesome to get at least one more great weekend out there?! ❄️🍀🤞
SAULT STE. MARIE AREA UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association >> 1/21/26 Good morning! Bryan and his son Logan hit the city trails last night and also 49 down to 7 mile and they turned out great! The little streams behind Kewadin Casino are still flowing (see the video in the comments) even with all of the cold, but our bridges have made a huge difference in there! There is one spot along the Kewadin trail that is soft and we keep filling it in as best we can. Likely a nonissue for the weight of a sled, but worth mentioning. Thank you Bryan and Logan!!❄️❄️❄️ #soo #soo0121b#snowphotos... See MoreSee Less
SAULT STE. MARIE AREA UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association >> 1/21/26 Good evening! Groomer Pat hit the Kinross east loop this evening. This is 49 south of M80 and the 494 loop (one of my favorites!) Looking beautiful! Thank you Pat! ❄️❄️❄️ #soo #soo0121#snowphotos... See MoreSee Less

SAULT STE. MARIE AREA UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association >> 1/20/26 Good evening! Brimley Bill brought the Pisten Bully in to the Soo barn from Raco via trail 8 and groomed along the way. After 6”+ of new snow yesterday, the berms at the road crossings needed to be cleared. He did a great job and the trail is flat, wide, and beautiful tonight! The Bully is in for a thaw and an oil change and it’ll be back out to Raco tomorrow night. Thanks Bill! ❄️❄️❄️ #soo #soo0120b#snowphotos... See MoreSee Less
