NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via TASA – 3/20

March 20, 2023 8:30 am

We groomed north to Holland lake and back Saturday and trail 45 to the falls. We did not groom anything last night with the low traffic we did not see the need. we plan to groom north again tonight. With the traffic over the weekend even though we had fresh snow the trails in to town are again back down to the dirt, The north trails are reported as good though. We did receive about 8 inches of fresh snow more the farther north on the trails this weekend, It is currently 25 degrees and cloudy.

Remember when you are on the side of any road always ride on the right side!

In other news we are raffling off a a 2023 Polaris Sportsman 450 Donated by Renze Power Sports.

Tickets: $100.00 each

Drawing held April 22, 2023 @ 7:00pm at the Elks Lodge in Newberry

Stay on the Trail!! Ride Right and Be Safe!! Please be respectful of private property, howbeit it fields or peoples front yards and remember when on roadways always ride on the right side!

Curfew in the Village of Newberry is 11:00pm to 7:00am.

Trail 9: Groomed saturday night. Reported as good. Logging be operations are finished and county roads 415 and 422 are now being groomed but snow is still a bit thin.

Trail 498: Goomeded Saturday night. Good.

Trail 45: Groomed Saturday night. fair condition. There is logging on the trail shortly after you jump on Trail 45 just past the Logging museum off of M-123. There is also be logging about 3 miles North of Skyline Road off to the right. Please use extreme caution in these areas! Both portions are being plowed and could be bumpy or rutted. Very Good in spots

Trial 9/2: Not Groomed last night due to lack of snow. Conditions being reported as poor.

Thank you to all the team at the groomers barn who puts in countless hours to keep the system groomed and maintenance on the machines!

Your grooming team from the TASA Barn!!

BUT! Im still going to dig deep in some areas leaving an edge that'll be blended in on the way back, so heads up about that. Guess that it for now, gotta go, but I'll bet back.

Sault Ste. Marie Trail Report – 03/20

SAULT STE. MARIE UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association – 03/19

Good morning all!

I have not heard the official word yet but I believe we are likely done grooming for the season unless we get some significant snow.

While the season got a late start, we made the most of it with what Mother Nature has dealt us.

We appreciate all of you who have encouraged us, joined as members, donated to the club, or otherwise shown your support for our efforts.

We do it for the love of our community and the sport itself. It’s awesome to see that so many riders have taken notice and made our area a destination.

I will continue to update but, as of today, March 19, I do believe we are done.

Tons of snow in the woods still, especially around Raco and Brimley. Lots of forest service roads to play on! Areas to our west got a lot of snow with the lake effect event yesterday so you don’t need to go far to find it.

I’d love to see your pics of your trips to our area. Please drop them in the comments or message us!

Thank you all for helping us make the most of the season! ❄️❄️❄️

SAULT STE. MARIE AREA UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association >> 1/20/26
Good evening! Brimley Bill brought the Pisten Bully in to the Soo barn from Raco via trail 8 and groomed along the way. After 6”+ of new snow yesterday, the berms at the road crossings needed to be cleared.
He did a great job and the trail is flat, wide, and beautiful tonight!
The Bully is in for a thaw and an oil change and it’ll be back out to Raco tomorrow night.
Thanks Bill! ❄️❄️❄️ #soo #soo0120b #snowphotos
