CADILLAC AREA UPDATE via Cadillac Winter Promotions >> We have decided to halt grooming operations until Sunday due to these cold temps. Our operators safety is #1. A lot of our trails have no cell service and if a tractor goes down it would be bad for our volunteers. The trails are in very good shape right now still. See you out there Sunday. #cadillac ... Michigan Snowmobile Trail Report

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Dangerous wind chills will be widespread today, especially this morning. Wind chills in the 20s below zero; some areas could feel as cold as -30F. This will be dangerous, as frostbite can develop in as little as 30 minutes on exposed skin. Limit time outdoors and dress in layers. Keep a winter weather survival kit in your vehicle in case you get stranded.
Gusty northwest winds plus continued powdery lake effect snow will lead to significant reductions in visibility with whiteouts at times through this afternoon, especially in open areas where snow can easily blow around. Dangerous travel conditions are expected, and wind chills well below zero will be even more problematic if you end up stranded on the road. #miweather #gaylord #cadillac #benzie #traversecity #petoskeyDangerous wind chills will be widespread today, especially this morning. Harbor Springs Trail Report – 02/26

HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club – 02/26

Trail conditions are VERY icy!

All of the trails on the east side were groomed last night and a few on the west side. The snow is all fluff so there wasn’t much to work with but we did the best we could.

Our piston bully slid backwards down a hill & off into the ditch just across melody lane headed to Moose Jaw (Trail 721). We had to leave the drag there, we tried to clean up what we could but the hill was far too icy to fix anything. Please use caution when approaching that area!
