1 maybe 2 inches over night. We are not grooming yet. We could use a hand in the barn today/tomorrow, shoot us a message. BUT WE BELIEVE WE WILL BE GROOMING RIGHT AROUND CHRISTMAS!

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> One last warm and sunny day is expected to start off the work week, with afternoon highs ranging in the 40s and 50s. However, things quickly take a turn as a winter storm heads towards the region. This kicks off an initial batch of light snow late tonight, persisting into Tuesday morning. A brief break Tuesday afternoon will be followed by more light to moderate snow Tuesday evening through Wednesday. ONTONAGON AREA UPDATE via Scott's Superior Inn and Cabins >> Porcupine Mountains / Ontonagon Area Snowmobile Trail Report
Well, we’re almost through the one-week warm-up and honestly…it wasn’t nearly as bad as originally projected. 👍
The big win? No rain. Temperatures also didn’t get nearly as high as the forecasts were calling for, so the snowmobile trails held up far better than expected and were not destroyed.
Even better news: cold weather returns Tuesday, along with about a half foot of fresh snow in the forecast. ❄️ The groomers will be back out and working their magic as soon as conditions allow.
With the massive snow base we still have, there will absolutely be great riding available for the coming weeks. Late season riding in the Western U.P. is often some of the best of the year.
If you want to experience some epic late-season riding, now is the time to make the trip to the Western U.P. and the Porcupine Mountains / Ontonagon area. #ontonagon #westernup #snowphotos

Snow is likely today, March 7th, 2026 on the backside of the low pressure system moving through, while parts of southern Michigan reach the mid-60s today. Most of the snow will fall along the spine of the western Upper Peninsula, where 2-5" of fresh snow is possible in the cornflower blue coloring. 1-3" of snow also possible in nearby Baraga and western Marquette county. A trace to 1" is possible for all areas in white, but most of these areas won't see more than a couple flurries mixed in with light freezing drizzle. Snow should be done by 10 pm EST across the Upper Peninsula.
The rest of the state will be dealing with temperatures in the 40s to 60s with showers and thunderstorms, clearing by late evening. This will set the stage for a mostly sunny Sunday ahead.
