Groomer Report: Tucker went out early this morning to put Ironwood to Wakefield back into shape. Trails are holding up incredibly well, even after several dozen sleds came behind the groomer this morning the return run showed the base is well intact and DEEP. Yes warm temps and rain is forecast for late Saturday into Sunday. We plan to go hard tonight to get as much groomed as possible. Then we will be parked to Monday awaiting temps to drop. IRONWOOD / WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via Gogebic Range Trail Authority – ORV & Snowmobile Club – 12/26

Trail base remains exceptional, grooming has been very limited. As of Monday night our entire open trail system was groomed including 160. Since early morning of Tuesday we have only groomed Ironwood. Temps look to drop tonight to a low of 23, but at least two operators are down and out sick, we’re worried about the rest. This weekend grooming will resume over night and we will try to find someone healthy to get out tonight. The snow is just too warm, it’s better if we leave the base undisturbed and the heavy equipment off of it.
