KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports – 2/26

Where are YOU riding this weekend?

Andy Deren & crew couldn’t have planned their backpack trip from Phelps, Wisconsin to Copper Harbor and back any better!

Last weeks fresh snowfall really helped get trails all over back in great shape! Andy shared these photos and details of their trip with us…. “2nd annual Great Water Garage Crew snowmobile trip is in the books! Phelps, WI to Copper Harbor, MI backpack trip was a great time! 550 miles total! We broke trail Thursday morning with 10 inches of fluff through Watersmeet! That was a major highlight. We arrived in Copper Harbor Thursday night and stayed at the The Mariner North. We enjoyed some popular stops along the way. Ran into the groomer recovery Friday morning heading back on trail 3 and meet some of the groomers – thank you for all they do!

Keweenaw Trail Reports thank you for keeping up with all the updates on the page, it is very helpful to all of us
Thank YOU, Andy for sharing your photos and details of your trip!

So glad you all enjoyed it!

NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via TASA – 2/23

February 23, 2023 9:30 am

We groomed to holland lake and to Rexton Tuesday night but did not groom last night as we had no new snow yesterday. We plan to groom all trails tonight. It is currently 12 degrees and snowing, we did receive about 3 inches of snow on Tuesday and have significant snow in todays forecast. Remember when you are on the side of a road always ride on the right side!

Trail 9: did not groom last night but did groomed on Tuesday night. Logging operations are finished and county roads 415 and 422 are now being groomed but snow is still a bit thin. good.

Trail 498: Not Groomed last night but was groomed Tuesday. Good.

Trail 45: Not groomed last night. Fair. there is about 5 miles of dirt from skyline to camp 7 rd. There is logging on the trail shortly after you jump on Trail 45 just past the Logging museum off of M-123. There is also be logging about 3 miles North of Skyline Road off to the right. Please use extreme caution in these areas! Both portions are being plowed and could be bumpy or rutted. Very Good in spots

Trial 9/2: Not groomed last night but groomed to Rexton on Tuesday night. Conditions being reported as fair.

Thank you to all the team at the groomers barn who puts in countless hours to keep the system groomed and maintenance on the machines!

Your grooming team from the TASA Barn!!
