Traverse City Trail Report – TC WebGuide – 03/21

Grand Traverse Snowmobile Club – 03/21

We have received 10 plus inches of snow since last Monday, the trails are in excellent shape with a base of around 6 inches. The groomers have been out every day except Sunday. They have reported some of the best trails of the season. It’ll be a good weekend for riding so get out and enjoy the Northern Michigan beauty of the Grand Traverse Area it might be the last chance this season.

Remember all of our groomer drivers are volunteers, and most of them are snowmobilers giving up some riding time to groom so that you have groomed trails to ride on, so if you get a chance tell them thank you or a thumbs up, it means a lot to them to know they are appreciated. Make sure to pick up one of our trail maps, we have some out on the trails in mailboxes at some map board locations and at our map sponsors. Support our sponsors and when you visit one of them tell them thank you for supporting GTASC

Ride safe and ride sober!! Remember to watch for groomers you never know when one will be coming around a corner or over a hill. Also remember that the signs on the snowmobile trails are there for the safety of snowmobilers, so please don’t remove them. If you have any questions about grooming or comments about the trails good or bad we would like to hear from you. Please feel free to contact us at gtascsnow@gmail.com

Western U.P. Trail Report – Western U.P. Bureau – 03/21

What can I say other than snow, snow and more snow. We have gotten an average of 28 inches of new snow in the last week. Some places in Gogebic County got more and some got less. Temps for today will be in the 20’s and for the weekend highs will be in the 30’s with lows in the teens. Snowmobiling is the best it has been all season. With our low traffic and great condition now is the time to come and have a great time riding. Our time for riding is winding down we only have little over a week left before the trails close.

The Gogebic Range Trail Authority:
With daily and nightly grooming ongoing groomers are trying to keep up with all the new snow we are getting. There is a trouble spot on 160. A groomer broke through a creek so use caution signs are posted. I am getting reports that trails are groomed and in great shape. I can only report on what I am told.

The Lake Gogebic groomers report:
Snowmobilers in the area are reporting the trails in very good condition with low traffic. Grooming is ongoing. Come up and have some fun with all the new snow we have gotten.

The Watersmeet groomers report: Conditions are very good, best they have been all season. We are getting more snow again today. All trails are groomed. Come up and enjoy some great riding.

Keep in mind groomers can be out day or night so watch out for them and please pull over or slow down and wait for the operator to signal you by.

Please be careful on corners as you know several Michigan Trail signs have been discontinued. These signs are posted on our trail map. PLEASE BE SAFE!!!!
