SAULT STE. MARIE UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association – 12/15
Not a lot of snow, as expected. Maybe 2-3” of wet snow. Good for packing for sure. We need a lot more to be able to open the gates and start grooming. AccuWeather says we’re supposed to get 4-8” by tomorrow but I’ll believe it when I see it. Gates are still closed for now. You can get around the ones on Trail 8 but I would say it’s definitely not worth potentially messing up your machine. It’s coming. Soon, this slow start will be just a very distant memory in our snow dust! ❄️❄️❄️

Good evening! Brimley Bill brought the Pisten Bully in to the Soo barn from Raco via trail 8 and groomed along the way. After 6”+ of new snow yesterday, the berms at the road crossings needed to be cleared.
He did a great job and the trail is flat, wide, and beautiful tonight!
The Bully is in for a thaw and an oil change and it’ll be back out to Raco tomorrow night.

Lane was out on 49 from Kinross north to 8 mile tonight. We’ve changed this route some, and our Kinross crew is running north to 8 mile, and the Soo crew is running south to 8 mile.
