Antrim County / Jordan Valley Trail Report – 12/26
Another great day on the trails!
Nick and his dad met on the trails with one of our great DNR officers while investigating the water over the trail, hope tomorrow this will be cured again. They have the valley in premium condition!
Mike and Todd for round #2, had a much better day today opening up road crossings and hitting a few remaining drifts! Apparently 11 hours yesterday wasn’t enough time together. Thanks guys!
ACSC President Groomer John is polishing the south trails up tonight. All should be mint by the time he is done.
We’ll groom through Wednesday night and access the situation from there as the weather is suppose to creep into the high 40’s. Lots of traffic out there today and we’re finally catching up from the storm and holiday. The new John Deere needs a new alternator, they tell me they should have it mid week, so we’ll be down a unit, for the next few days.

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Cold temperatures and continued brisk winds tonight will result in bitter cold wind chills of -10°F to -24°F across northern Michigan this morning. Good chances for snow showers will continue this week. After the cold today, temperatures rebound a bit Wednesday, but that will not last. JORDAN VALLEY AREA UPDATE via Jordan Valley Trails Council >> Hats off to Mike, Rich and Pete for spending two cold days fixing a minor issue found on the track of the Pisten Bully! These guys have been on the recovery and fix of the blown track and this latest fix this year and we couldn’t do it without them! Hopefully our machine issues are behind us for the year!
Our Milwaukee Tool are a key part of program. From our impacts, grease guns and chainsaws in the cab of our units, these tools make our volunteers lives easier! Our groomers were out all weekend making up for the down machine. Thank you to our volunteers for adjusting their schedules! Trails have come back around since we’ve received some fresh snow to mix in with the crusty snow left from the meld down. Looks like we may receive another foot by next weekend which will help build back up the trail. This week will be frigid so we will adjust grooming as needed for snowfall and temps.
