Munising Area Trail Report – 02/02

MUNISING AREA UPDATE via TNT Trenary Northern Trails – 2/2

More grooming last night, but we all know it wouldn’t help with the weather today. Warm and rainy day today has put a beating on the junk snow we were working with. Only saving grace will be cold temps through the week will help the trail set back to hard pack. Going to take a couple days to get the whoops cut and refrozen. Still need new snow…. Be careful as corners are washed out, road crossings are super soft and blown out into the road from over eager throttle flappers, and bridge crossings and gates are all washboard. Also added are examples from some of our areas where we apparently let the illiterate snowmobilers ride… Seriously…. We don’t like digging holes for signs. Expecially in ACCURATELY NAMED Rock River Township. We didn’t put these up because we thought it was “FUN”…

MUNISING AREA UPDATE via Alger County SORVA – 2/1

TRAIL REPORT – Saturday, 02-01-2020
NICE RIDING CONDITIONS CONSIDERING….
Overall trail conditions are good to very good. Soft snow and ribbons not holding long but the base it hard and flat so very minimal chop developing through the day. Still, we really need a substantial snowfall to bind things together and keep the groomed ribbons lasting longer. The season is short so our theory is to keep the trails flat, riding a flat sugary trail is way more enjoyable than dealing with 3 foot moguls. We will continue to groom and do our best to at least keep the chop to a minimum. Keep the cold weather snow dancing going, Enjoy the Trails and Ride Safe! Lake Gogebic Trail Report – 02/02

LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Bergland Bay Bar – 2/2

2-2-2020, 11:30 AM eastern:
Allow me to eat my words from my previous post. All trails in the Gogebic Area Grooming area were groomed last night and actually look pretty flat from what we could see on the way in today. Nice job guys. Note the time on this post. Ride early if you want good trails. Be safe and come and see us.

Happy Super Bowl Sunday!!! GO CHIEFS!!! Anyways, good new is that the 43-44, with sun, they were calling for is now 37-38 and overcast. The bad news is that it’s going to be 37-38 degrees today. Still looking to cool down tonight. I can’t imagine the trails are going to be all that great today. I did hear from quite a few riders last night that, in their opinion, the trails weren’t that bad considering. Whatever that means is up to you to contemplate. I also heard, “it depends on what you’re riding.” So chew on that one too. Anyways, lower temps are coming. I’d bet by tomorrow or Tuesday we should be fixed back up. Stay warm, stay safe, stay right, and find a place to stay in Bergland
