Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 03/24

All locked up. You know I always say I go to Sledheads Prison from December 1 to March 31 and then I get paroled at the end of March and get my freedom back. Well this year I was unlucky enough to get paroled early in March due to no snow but now I have been awarded another 3 weeks of lock up which in my opinion is probably the best thing for everyone. I spent most of the day yesterday taking signs down and putting things away at Sledheads and brought my camper home too as I have a nice secluded spot I call Camp Wildwood only about a mile from my house where I can spend some time and clean up downed trees and fun stuff like that. I went for a walk out on the lake last night and my feeling is the ice wont be all gone till at least the middle of April…. I have probably talked about it before but my oldest daughter is a flight attendant for a major alirline and they have still been flying all over the country which makes me nervous for her. Yesterday she was in Maui and flew on a 777 there, that plane holds about 360 people and they had only about 40 passengers on it…..Hard to believe they are still even firing those big planes up. Pic below is the sunset on Lake Margrethe from last night and the hoop pic I just came across from a few years ago that I took out at camp grayling a few years ago of my daughter taking a shot and I just like that pic. Thanks for checking in. Pete

Keweenaw Peninsula Trail Report – 03/20

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports – 3/20

From snowy, whiteout like conditions to start the day all the way to beautiful bluebird skies for the second half of the day – it couldn’t have been a more perfect day to be riding Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula!

Trails were absolutely perfect!

<>

Snow, snow and more snow! It’s a great day to be socially distancing yourself behind the bars of your sled.

Trail Boss, Buzzy gave this update this morning “Keweenaw got some new snow for the last sledders out there. Three groomers on the trails between high rock and toivola Should be good sledding. On a lighter note, groomer no. 2 operator had an early morning eye opening experience upon putting his lunch in the passenger side seat. He had a passenger waiting for him in the form of a raccoon!! Seems like his guest climbed thru the open drivers window to help himself to some potato chips. That will wake you up! If your going for a sled ride, follow the new rules of social distancing and Holler loud so your friends can hear you.”

Enjoy it while you still can!
