GREAT RIDING CONDITIONS CONTINUE!
The 4 to 5 inches of fresh snow last night really improved conditions. Trails are grooming out nicely and now in an overall very good condition with the new snow. Some icy inside corners may develop throughout the day near Christmas and in the hills of Trail 419 closer to Munising. Keep a close eye on trail conditions as you ride and stay right. Stay tuned for updates!
WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Coldest air so far this winter season is expected to overspread the upper Great Lakes Thursday night and Friday. Snow, baby, snow! The Gaylord area received 10-12 inches of fluffy snow last week. Trails have been groomed and are in good condition. Groomers have been out regularly. Please remember that the groomers have a job to do – moving aside and letting them pass by at a safe distance is very appreciated. Be safe and have fun!

WOW!! That’s what i have to say about the snow from yesterday and last night. A good firm six to eight inches of the stuff we have been waiting for all winter. Many sleds out and about yesterday and even I got out with my brother and 2 other friends. We left Frederic last night about six and took the long route up to Starvation Lake where there were I would say 75 sleds in their lot. Had dinner there and made it back here to Sledheads about 9:30. A fantastic 57 mile ride. Several spots we were the first ones down the freshly groomed trail which was a nice feeling. I have seen a couple sleds this morning so far. I have been plowing since 6:30 and am pretty well caught up on that. I might just have to take another ride today. Pics below are from the gas station last night as my riding partners were filling up. Sure feels good to have real snow. The Darkside Adventures guys finished their ride up yesteray. FREDERIC - GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic , Michigan Snowmobiling >> Had a great 160 mile ride yesterday. Started out riding to Frederic from home and then to Starvation Lake, Alba, Jordan Valley Trail, D & K formally Larrys in Elmira, up the Chandler HIlls trail until I lost the trail right at dark, then a little ditch banging as after i lost the trail I started south and east as I knew I would hit the highway. Came out by Vanderbilt and theh hit the 7 trail back to Gaylord, Waters and Frederic…..Perfect day of riding. Met up with Big John and Speed Bump for Spike burgers about 9 last night.I might go again this afternoon as I am thinking about a burger at Talleys. Supposed to get cold this weekend. FREDERIC - GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic , Michigan Snowmobiling >> Conditions are A plus times ten. Rode to Lovells last night and then home, left home this morning and rode towards Starvation Lake and then down to Frederic, conditions on trails nice and fluffy and smooth. Happy to say that trail 7 south out of Frederic along with trails 47, 679 and 76 all very nice. I rode 26 miles back here to Frederic and came into sledheads to warm up and am heading back out.
